Fraser suggests BVI has widespread inferiority complex
Opposition Leader Julian Fraser has suggested that members of the BVI society may be stricken with an inferiority complex which he argued is a widespread phenomenon.
Piggybacking on an earlier argument made by Fourth District Representative Mark Vanterpool, Fraser suggested that the issue at hand related to the inability of residents to appreciate their relative lack of freedom.
“There is a thing called an inferiority complex, and that inferiority complex comes through a person’s disbelief in themself to the point where they believe that others are better,” Fraser said.
Fraser was among a chorus of lawmakers who lunged for their bibles during the recent budget debate to help explain their position. In this instance, he guided fellow legislators to Ephesians 6 vs 5, even as he argued that the particular plight in reference was pervasive in the BVI society and was difficult for him to understand.
And while insisting that he did not come to the House of Assembly to offer a sermon, Fraser pointed out that the scripture in reference — which commended the obedience of slaves to their masters — was relevant at this time.
Fraser predicted that he will be accosted by residents to explain the scripture’s meaning – something he agreed to do – but he also urged those listening to figure out its meaning on their own.
“As [Vanterpool] pointed out, and said quite eloquently, we don’t need the approval of anyone to determine or decide whether we should be free. And freedom could only come through self-determination. No other way,” Fraser asserted.
He was adamant that persons should heed ‘the words of wisdom’ coming from Vanterpool.
“Of course, the average man on the street believes that he’s free,” Fraser argued. “Because when he’s finished working on Friday or any evening, he could go to the Pier Park and sip a margarita. To him, that’s freedom.”
He continued: “But there’s a different level of freedom when you reach a certain stage in life and you appreciate what your forefathers had gone through and you see that you are no different from them except the physical slavery. Mentally, you’re trapped.”
Fraser questioned why it should take someone attaining the age of 80 years before they could fully understand that they are not ‘free’ in the truest sense.

You can’t speak better shut your mouth, you were one of the promoters of segregation with the blockade of the islanders, forget the humiliation of neighboring foreigners with the driver’s license, the blockade so that they could not send their money out of bvi and the traffic light at the roundabout. The inferiority complex you have it yourself
Ví islanders we need to wake up the don’t do anything for us after the hurricane instante of helping us they ofter us a loan mark and Fraser is right
Looks like we have another pastor in dah house , let’s see you do the moonwalk , like the holy one ,CSC
The fact that the sea cows bay Harbour project has no arrest and charges made tells us a lot about the motives of the COI. The auditor report on that project is scathing. Government money used to do work on private land owned by the Minister and his brothers hired to do the work on their own land. People got paid for work that was not completed.
The COI is selective scapegoating. It was to damage the reputation of people who would be a threat to them and their plans for the BVI. They get rid of Fahie and now they trying with Myron. Those were the two they needed to have out the way.
Certainly not free from crooked and inept politicians!
He is right
FRASER FOR PRIMIER
Here we go again… pointing out that “Our Own” is corrupt and doing a terrible job and need to do better if this place gonna have any future is now equivalent to an inferiority complex and mental slavery.
Why do we collectively oppress and downpress persons who can see what is happening and try to warn others. We have a history of dishing out the most horrible treatment to such persons while we entertain villains and scoundrels. It is because of this why we are experiencing the problems that we face today. With this mentality we shall pay a price that we don’t believe is possible. We need to reflect on the hurricanes and pandemic to realize that what we take for granted can disappear instantly. The whole world is at the brink of destruction but we continue to follow the piper blindly. Deception and distraction will only make things worse as we continue to look back at the creature comforts obtained by the blood of the innocent. Feel good fairy tales will not help us at this time and not many will make it through the apocalypse that the world now finds itself in.
You see Fraser as red meat…Your hatred and jealousy for him will not detour us in the 3rd from re-electing him to represent us for he is as clean as a whistle.
I think it’s the opposite especially as it relates to those from “down island.”
Inferior politicians
You’ve got to be joking. Many BVIslanders have a false superiority complex, thinking that everything is better here and that they can’t learn anything from elsewhere. Compare the BVI to other immaculate and well-run British territories like Cayman – the infrastructure here is a joke. And the French territories have fantastic roads, etc. because they happily take money from elsewhere in return for losing some “autonomy”. Frazer needs to retire now.
NEVER TRUST SOMEONE WHO WEARS A MOUSTACHE LIKE ADOLF HITLER
NEVER TRUST ANYONE WHO MAKES ANY STATEMENT ABOUT ADOLPH HITLER.
Mr STOUTT would of taken the loan and worked with it and am sure we would of been much better off , after the UK saw how we Are squandering our own taxpayers money , do you really think the UK is that DUMB ,look at what SAINT ANDREW and his disciples did to SOCIAL SECURITY $40 million and the the LADY who used to control it with integrity .(incidentally he left his puppets ( as mark said ,) to continue where he left off , and they are doing a real fine job ?
Clown #2
The BVI? Inferiority complex? The BVI? The same BVI whose ppl believe they are their own continent and feel they better than everyone else?? HA! I laugh!
“BVI has a widespread INSECURITY complex” created by politicians. They cue it up play it like a fiddle each and every election. Wait for it:…” Only I can save you from the evil THEM. ( whoever Them happens to be that year
You help to ingrain the complex when you turn you backs on your own “
Down island Caribbean brothers and sisters “
I saw with mine own eyes when you ignored a island lady outstretched hand 6 years ago at a community center meeting The lady came here at 21 years old , lived in the BVI for 60
Years have children and great grandchildren here but she do not have a typical BVIslander sir name Go sit down .:: Shave your European looking General face style
Fraser is like an uneducated drug dealer
trying to groom children to take his drugs.
He will use any tricks he can. He uses religion because
he knows it’s important to us and talks of freedom
from the UK like a groomer tries to get a child to
ignore it’s parents. We see you. We know you want
us to fall for your control and we won’t fall for it.
So you didn’t trust Churchill and Roosevelt?
Creepy dude
“There is a thing called an inferiority complex, and that inferiority complex comes through a person’s disbelief in themself to the point where they believe that others are better,” Fraser said.
Oh Mr.Fraser… I do not know who in the Virgin Islands you refer, but this virginislander has no inferiority complex. There is nothing supreme about White supremacy, not a dam thing. You cannot lump all Virgin Islanders in that so-called inferiority complex narrative. No one will paralyze my mind or my imagination ever as long as I am in my right mind. My self confidence and self esteem is through the roof, thanks to my mother and father of sainted memory. I am not better than anyone else, just different from.
Lol Fahie got rid of himself by being greedy and stupid
