Long Look resident Kadeem Frett has been called before the Magistrate’s Court for allegedly dousing a woman with beer.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared before Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo this morning.

Allegations are that, on July 22 last year, the female complainant was standing near Ice Bar & Grill in Fat Hog’s Bay when the accused approached her with a beer bottle.

The prosecution claimed that he threw some of the beer on her, and then dared her to ‘take that to the police’.

The court heard that the woman went to the police station the same night and reported the incident.

According to the prosecution, police observed that the woman’s clothes were wet, and they also had the scent of alcohol.

It is reported that the law enforcers met the alleged offender the following month and cautioned him in relation to the incident.

He denied the allegations and told police that the complainant was ‘making up stories’ because she and his girlfriend were involved in a fight some time before the alleged beer incident.

Frett was subsequently charged with common assault.

He was granted $10,000 bail and ordered to stay away from the complainant.

He is scheduled to return for trial on May 15.

Frett, in the meantime, is also before the court for other unrelated offences.
