Give us some time for fixes, Premier says
Even as he dismissed claims that his government is just focused on parties, Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley has asked the public for more time to implement some of the badly needed infrastructure repairs and address other issues affecting the territory.
Speaking at a recent press conference to announce the upcoming Music Fest, Dr Wheatley said, “We are not by any stretch of the imagination ignoring some of the pressing and vital needs that we have… we inherited a lot of challenges and a lot of problems.”
Dr Wheatley alluded to the upcoming Music Fest and rejected suggestions that the event is a glorified party that removed his government’s focus from more serious matters. “First of all, it’s more than just a party. I think persons basically minimise the value of it by just calling it a party.”
He argued that for some persons, such events are a livelihood and serve an important part of the BVI’s tourism product — the second largest pillar of the territory’s economy.
Pointing to water and sewerage issues plaguing the territory, Premier Wheatley argued that this is one of the things that keep his ministers up at night.
He stated: “These pressing issues that we have in the territory occupy the minds of elected officials and government officials all day every day. Even when we’re sleeping we’re thinking about these things and how to solve these things.”
Dr Wheatley highlighted the government’s planned road project to repair 38 miles of roadway and said discussions are constant between himself and Communications and Works Minister Kye Rymer on such issues.
He praised his government’s efforts at combating challenges such as COVID-19 and road works done to date that were left in disrepair by past governments and said they are not complaining about the task ahead.
“I’m going to do it and then it’s going to be done, along with my team,” the Premier said. “So, give us some time. We got into office in 2023, and that term expires in 2027. Give us an opportunity to solve some of these challenges and then the electorate and everybody can come to a conclusion as to whether we were successful or not.”

THIS DUDE IS AN OVERRATED WASTE OF TIME
BUT WE DONT NEED TIME FOR PARTIES, RIGHT?
Give us some time to give you water to bathe. Give us some time to fix the roads from mashing up cars. Give us some time to provide jobs. Give us some time to help small businesses. Give us some time to fix the AC at the hospital. Just give us some time. Wait until we done wuk up with this 700k for the music fest then we sort ayo out! Hold on, watch me werk up Slow whine taking my time. Watch meh waist daddy!!!!
YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN TRYING TO REPAIR A ROAD BY GOVERNMRNT HOUSE GOING ON 3 YEARS NOW.
THE VIP HAS BEEN IN POWER 5 YEARS IN A ROW NOW…….ENOUGH OF THE LAME EXCUSES
Time?
Natalio wants time?
Natalio became Premier in April 2022.
In the meantime he has:
– Complained about UK
– Complained about Media
– Focused on Gay Marriage
– Travelled a lot
– Hosted an expensive party
– Told us the territory has money and told us to watch him go to work
– NOT given increments
In the meantime he has NOT:
– Fixed the roads
– improved healthcare
– improved education
– improved tourism
Just talk, no action.
Yet, time was the problem.
Go home Natalio. We don’t need you.
Hey go easy on the brother , we know he is young , gifted & black ,AND fully ENTITLED
Give him some time. Meanwhile he found $670K out of the blue for a music fest that we have gone without for how many years, then another $2mil for Aug Festival.
Parties, Pi*s, Pot and P**ties just to name a few.
Cut the nonsense already man. We don’t need any more time for the incompetence or what ever games you are trying to play with people’s mind. The only thing you are good at is flying first class, laying up in five star hotels on silk sheets, throwing ghetto parties and riding around in the hard working taxpayers vehicle. look at you at the VG festival riding around on a truck instead of walking. LOL, the private joke is you were on the truck and not walking is you were SCURD you would run into MS. CINDY. LMAO.
Give ayo time then next thing its election time again and nothing still ain’t happen so got to hear you campaign on the same issues you campaign on previous election; you get back in then cycle of nothing repeats; millions still spent. Then go in the media and try to fool off the public like so much work happening in the background despite the lack of visible progress or even a plan.
But he ca’t find money to pay increments to the people bot active and retired. Why must one who has worked an entire life and career, retire without the receiving all thatis owed to them.
The hypocrisy is staggering, because when they the elected retires or is votedout, theywill make sure that they receive penny due.
But no, the people don’tneed their money becausethey the get get. backs and other daily.
Time will tell for those selfish people.
