Golden gems revealed to be the latest COVID-19 fatalities
The seven persons recorded during the month of January as the most recent COVID-19 fatalities have all been revealed to be above the age of 60 years.
This is according to a release issued by the Ministry of Health, which disclosed the genders and ages of some of the persons who most recently succumbed to the virus.
The deceased persons are a 90-year-old female who died on January 2, a 62-year-old female who died on January 3, an 84-year-old female who died on January 5, a 74-year-old male who died on January 7, a 78-year-old male who died on January 7, a 95-year-old male who died on January 11 and an 86-year-old male who died on January 24, the Ministry said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Carvin Malone, who has repeatedly referred to the territory’s seniors as his ‘golden gems’, offered condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the government.
“This wave of the virus is severely impacting our seniors and immunocompromised persons, according to the data. Omicron is a milder form of the disease but it is enhancing the vulnerability of older persons with chronic diseases to more severe disease, hospitalisation and death with COVID,” Malone stated.
The Minister continued to urge persons to get vaccinated and boosted in order to effectively combat the virus.
The data released by the Health Ministry in its most recent epidemiological summary shows that the territory recorded 49 COVID-19 related deaths as of January 25.
According to the Ministry, active cases have since fallen to 397 in the territory with 12 persons currently hospitalised.

Were they vaccinated or not? TELL US THE TRUTH
What does it matter whether they were vaccinated or not. The point is we lost some of our golden Gems to Covid. Pray for comfort for their families and move on man. You are concerned about the wrong things i swear.

If efforts were made to be certain that our most vulnerable, our Golden Gems were vaccinated or giv en the opportunity to be vaccinated, they would not have lost their fragile existence.
We should be concerned because there is cause for concern.
More than likely, they were not because they were not given the opportunity.
They could not stand in line and in the outdoor heat,
They had no transport.
Many reasons.

Get vaccinated and booster for a virus that still infects the vaccinated and boosted and can still be spread by other vaccinated and boosted to other vaccinated and boosted as well as people who are not vaccinated and boosted. So you mean to tell me, the protected needs to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to take the medicine that clearly is not protecting the protected. Hmmmm

Condolences to the families of the lost loved ones. Are we really going to sit here and say these people died from COVID? Did they die FROM or WITH COVID? The play on numbers is just to panic people and it needs to stop.

I agree with the point about FROM or WITH COVID19 — but it sometimes takes more effort than it’s worth to figure that out, even when one can. But whether FROM or WITH, COVID19 being present more than probably contributed or sped up their passing.
School children say that 90% of the elderly get COVID when they go in the hospital as they did not have it when they were admitted to the hospital. Yet, I understand that when they die, there is ZERO explanation to grieving families from the Hospital. (sigh)

Sad, sad, sad times. Let’s protect our golden gems. Antivaccers, vaccine haters,……etc should not impose their personal choice on elderly relatives. Yes, I went there. Trust me, it is happening. Who to blame if the worst was to happen? Let your conscience be clear. Get elderly relatives vaccinated and boosted.
I old and no person offer me help to get vaccinated. I manage somehow. Family know nothing about you until you die and it’s land grabbing time. Identity of these elder deceased are a secret because their relatives across the water won’t know and and some other entiltled relatives right here in the BVI., Probate announcements and estate settlements are top secret in the VI. When last you have seen a probate announcement in the paper or in the media news site or any of the VI facebook.com.
But when they see you or walk in your yard looking for votes,they grinning and pretending.
