Good Samaritan helped victim in New Year’s Day shooting

Not the actual scene from this morning’s shooting.

Fresh details have emerged on the New Year’s Day shooting in Long Trench that left one man — a native of Dominican Republic — nursing gunshot wounds.

Our news centre was informed that the victim left home to attend an event on New Year’s Eve. When he reached the Long Trench area, two men on a scooter started firing shots at his vehicle.

After sustaining several gunshots wounds to his arms and shoulders, the victim managed to escape his attackers and stopped his vehicle at a location where he saw a stranger.

It’s alleged that the stranger helped the victim from his vehicle and transported the wounded man to the Dr D Orlando Smith hospital for treatment. He later returned to the spot where he met the victim and drove the vehicle to the wounded man’s residence.

Our news centre was told that the victim was admitted to hospital. However, BVI News has not been able to verify his current condition.

The police are still investigating the matter and it’s unclear whether the incident is linked to ongoing feuds between rival groups that are involved in the narcotics trade.

This is VERY IRRESPONSIBLE!! This could be a love triangle or any other issue. If you have no evidence as to what the issue is, just report on the facts and leave the rest. Is this the fu**ing Enquirer?

How he know where the man lives? Someone else would need to pick him up from the mans house. The car is evidence. Doesnt sound like a random good samaritan! Why is the victims name not released?

  12. Toddie says:

I pray that the victim’s injuries are not life threatening.

What a story though! So, based on the article the Good Samaritan was a stranger to the victim, but yet after taking the victim to hospital, this stranger was able to double back to the scene and drive the vehicle to the victim’s home!!

Good Samaritan didn’t call the police for assistance at any point?
What about the gunmen? They just shot and ran away? In my humble opinion this story should have gone unreported because frankly, it leaves us with more questions than answers. It also makes some of us here in the BVI look like bungling, incompetent fools.

of our tiny secrets they have yhe Italian mafia / the Mexican mafia / the jamaican mafia and UT seems like we have our own now in the holy land / following fashion ?

  14. Tongue Fu says:

They need to question the so called ‘Good Samaritan’ as he clearly knows more than he or she is saying. Could be charged with tampering with evidence as I am not sure why he/she would return to a crime scene to drive the car back unless this was after the police collected their evidence.

Very weird story or maybe it’s just me.
