Governor’s Office extends tenure of Assistant Police Commissioner

Assistant Police Commissioner Pam Trevillion.

Acting Governor David Archer Jr. has announced the extension of Assistant Commissioner of Police Pamela Trevillion’s tenure by an additional six months.

Highly-placed sources told our news centre that the Public Service Commission had decided against renewing the UK national’s tenure but the Governor’s Office opted to override that decision.

A press release issued by the Governor’s Office on Wednesday, November 21, described its decision as constitutional.

It further said the decision is part of a broader reorganisation of leadership within the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), aimed at improving the implementation of recommendations from a recent Law Enforcement Review by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).

“Assistant Commissioner Pamela Trevillion will remain in her role for an additional six months, from November 22, 2024, to May 2025. This decision, along with all RVIPF Human Resources matters, is made in accordance with the constitution,” the release stated.

The press release emphasised that the RVIPF is facing significant challenges, but the expertise and professionalism of its officers remain a priority in all recruitment decisions.

The extension of the UK national’s tenure comes after Governor Daniel Pruce’s decision to terminate the recruitment process for a new Commissioner of Police, originally scheduled to take office on November 30. The recruitment, initiated earlier this year to ensure continuity following Commissioner Mark Collins’ term, was halted due to evolving requirements, creating a temporary leadership gap.

This shift also follows reports that a high-ranking police officer is currently under internal investigation. Commissioner Mark Collins declined to comment, stating he could neither confirm nor deny the reports.

In 2023, the UK government allocated approximately one million dollars for a comprehensive review of the territory’s law enforcement agencies, prompted by rising crime rates, particularly gun-related offences. The review examined the structure, resources, conduct, and standards of the RVIPF, Customs, Immigration, and the Prison Service.

We need some form of self rule:

The UK is now formally. advancing its agenda to take over our purse and other.

They are now outwardly setting their young ones up to do so while denying our young people the same career opportunities.

This under handedness will only stopwhen the ties with Uk are severed completely, and this ust be done beorethey send in their Marines to complete the take over.

Indeed, it is quite obvious that the current acting COP will be the last local and Black the nation will see in decades if not centuries.

Antone who objects to. these statements are either the opperatives and or the. uninformed of the Brit mode of thinking.

He who knows not must confront history and read, as nothing has changed in that mindset since medival times.

We better wake up before it is to late.

Importing thoudands of criminals and potential criminals some not yet conceived from the bedrock of crime in the Northern Hemisphere necessitating the imports of additional and foreign police and law enforcement the predictable end result as it is now was orchestrated by the local Government for their personal gain. The UK is simply stepping in as mandated by Rules Law and obligation. A last ditch to save their sinking ship and irresponsible crew on a suicide mission.

Can you imagine paying tax and bills for water but the water cut every evening?

Can you imagine paying tax for roads but every couple days or weeks you have no care issues or need new tyres? I surprised no one riot yet or sue them pants off maybe that’s why the politicians feel them could do anything
    . imagine independence?? Wow
