The Ralph T O’Neal Central Administration Complex has been outfitted with windows, doors and frames, a positive sign that the building will soon be ready to accommodate government offices.

The edifice was one of the many battered during the 2017 disasters. Repairs began in late 2019 with the removal of debris and work on various sections of the roof.

Recently, government stakeholders who are overseeing the project toured the site and completed the final assessment of the windows that were installed by DesignBVI Limited, which was awarded the contract in 2020.

The final assessment was done to ensure that the quality of work was done to the standards stipulated in the contract.
However, it is still not clear when public sector workers will start moving back into the building but the recent fixtures signal that this may happen soon.

Since the building was damaged, the government has been spending millions to rent spaces all over Road Town to house its offices. But Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley has been promising that the building will soon be completed and is only in need of a few finishing touches.

In 2021, the government awarded NAGICO Insurance Ltd a contract valued $238,185 to insure the Ralph T O’Neal Administration Complex.

The complex is covered for up $25,589,000 in the event of fire and extended perils, contractor’s all-risk insurance, and public liability.
