Gov’t signs contract for new social home in Baughers Bay
The Ministry of Health and Social Development has signed a contract with E&K Construction to build a new social home in Baughers Bay for a vulnerable resident, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to provide housing support across the territory.
Health Minister Vincent Wheatley confirmed that the home will be constructed for Mr. Marvin Malone, who he said has been awaiting assistance for several years.
“He has waited many, many years for this to happen. So, I am very happy to finally see the signing of this contract and to get the project moving,” Minister Wheatley said, adding that E&K Construction has a strong track record of delivering social homes efficiently.
The construction company’s representative Enos Aaron expressed appreciation for the opportunity, stating that his team is committed to contributing to projects that improve lives.
The social home initiative forms part of the government’s broader mandate to provide safe and secure housing for the elderly and other vulnerable residents throughout the Virgin Islands.
