Gov’t to host praise, thanksgiving service on New Year’s Day

Premier Fahie

Premier Andrew Fahie is urging residents to come together and join in on his government’s New Year’s Praise & Thanksgiving Service scheduled for January 1, 2021.

The service which is entitled ‘A Time of Praise and Prayer’ is aimed at getting residents to sing songs of praise while petitioning for God to continue to bless the territory.

With the territory experiencing an unprecedented year with the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier Fahie said it was the grace of God that helped the BVI to make it through the very difficult 2020.

“We are not going anywhere without God. He has been and continues to be so good to us. I make no reservations about this. We are where we are because of His grace and goodness,” Fahie stated.

He added: “This service is about offering up waves upon waves of thanksgiving and praise. It is for us to agree and collectively seek God to terminate tragedies as we celebrate triumphs of 2020 and seal our faith and our future as we go into 2021 with God’s hand ordering our steps.”

The service is scheduled to be held at the Queen Elizabeth II Park on Tortola from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Prayers without work is dead! Do some work for God in heaven’s sake and I don’t mean caroling around on the back of a truck like fools.
Your attempt to use religion to control the thinking of people because of our reverence for God will not work on all the people.
And where is the church and Christian council in all this. Why are they not being called upon or leading the charge for prayers in the country? They have left it up to the politicians which is very dangerous. We need a David from the church. We need a Daniel from the church. They have all become subordinate to the government. Rise up and take you’re place church rather than trying to please the government and quite frankly sucking up to them.

Please Mr Fahie , keep your religious belief to yourself . Religion and Politics are not going well together and it has been proven all over the world .
We can decide for ourselves what or who we belief and pray for … but you seem to decide where this country is going to for all of us with your prayers .
We need a bit more than praying… and I do respect all believers in the right place and time.

The more youall play with the name of God is the more angry he gets. Lord Lord in the morning, and then up the Huntums Ghut side shop picking up all your supplies in the evening. Dirty handed people. With the same mouth and hands you say you praise God and the same mouth and hand you use for evil. God is not a poppyshow with ayo.

They are great pretenders but God don’t sleep. Always using the Lord name as a cloak.
