Gov’t to host Regional Trade & Commerce Symposium online
The British Virgin Islands government is planning an online Regional Trade & Commerce Symposium, which is scheduled to be held on Monday, March, 30.
This is according to Premier Andrew Fahie who said the initiative has the support of the territory’s local business sector.
“At this online symposium, we will be talking with the leaders of the business organisations in the CARICOM and OECS countries, and exploring ways to maintain our access to quality goods and supplies and ensuring competitive prices,” Premier Fahie stated recently.
“This will not only ensure our safety in terms of food and supplies, but it will also help to restore our economic activity and create the conditions for keeping our businesses going and for getting our people back into their jobs,” he explained.
Premier Fahie also said the symposium is expected to benefit the territory long after the global COVID-19 pandemic.
He said he believes it will contribute to the economic expansion which he had mentioned in his latest Budget Address.
