They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We need to change the way that these detainees are handled. Nowhere else in the world is putting illegal immigrants in hotels and guesthouses. The Governor is responsible for security. A facility with adequate security is needed as a place to house them while they await trial/deportation. Illegal immigration is a big enough problem that deserves attention. Whoever is responsible for providing security should be fired as escapees are too frequent. Are we waiting for a COI to tell us how to fix this problem or will our leaders use some common sense and fix this problem now.

If they do that I’m sure the UK will say that the BVI is corrupt and is assisting in the smuggling of illegal immigrant to the US by deliberately allowing them easy access to US waters.

  7. Mr. Fahee says:

France should do what’s right and accept all willing Haitian refugees. The Haitians fought for their freedom and won with their blood, sweat and tears only for the French to return two decades later and force them to pay 150 million francs to avoid another war to recognize their freedom. The debts created by repaying former slave masters have crippled Haiti for generations and created generations of poor people to the point where people do anything to escape a living nightmare which is their home in Haiti.

It is a shame she is not a member of the Sinaola cartel or the Hezbollah, it would have been easier to get residency.

  10. If I saw her I would not report it. says:

Why? The justice system in the BVI does not appear fair. I hate to take this position since I believe for the most part in law and order.

Now if she was accused of something more serious like murder, I certainly would drop a dime on her in a New York second.

IMO, just because she is of Haitian decent, her picture is all over the media. There have been so many instances of people who have been accused of very serious crimes and even having escaped Ballo whose pictures never made it to the media. Just some vague description of the subject by skin color, height, and weight.

In these neck of the woods, its who you are or more importantly who you are not that determines how you are treated inclusive of the law.

I disagree with this way of doing things. The law should apply equally to all.

I trust she safely gets back home.

This is a great article if you want to know why Haiti is in such a terrible state and why France and the USA should be held accountable. https://nyti.ms/3lvBJCj

Shouldn’t the scrutiny be on the security company?
