High school teens caught with cannabis
BVI News understands that police were recently called to a local high school after three students — all between the ages of twelve and fourteen — were allegedly caught with cannabis on campus.
According to information reaching our news centre, the incident occurred a few weeks ago when school officials reportedly discovered what appeared to be marijuana in the possession of the students.
The matter was immediately reported to police, who later visited the school to investigate.
It is alleged that the students were found with small parcels of cannabis weighing about ten grams in total, along with a lighter, rolling paper, and condoms. It remains unclear how the teens obtained the drugs or whether they intended to use them.
The students were taken to the Road Town Police Station, where their parents were contacted. The minors were reportedly cautioned about the dangers of using controlled substances in the presence of their parents.
This latest incident comes amid growing concern about youth behaviour across the territory. In recent weeks, there has been a noticeable increase in reports involving minors — including a case where a sixteen-year-old allegedly pointed a gun at police officers, forcing one officer to dive into nearby bushes for cover.
Community members have since called for stronger intervention programmes and greater police presence around schools to address what many describe as a troubling trend among BVI teens.

Nothing is new here..when it becomes a problem is when they skip school to smoke or smoke before school to come amongst their peers some even smoke with their parents…where are the lines of bounderies when it comes to cannabis? kids usually tend to follow the crowd at adolescents and are poor decision makers leading them to become deliquents in society.

Indeed, a half of the currents leaders salary increase alone could have gone towards establshing a touirsm and or medical marijuana industry. They in themselves create million dollar industries.
Instead, we remain a puritanical mut and state of mind and being, while paying for incarceration of beings for use of a medically healing providng plant that never destroys.
If hyper morality, and religious christianized values were logical and productve instruments, there would be fewer foolish people in critical making decisions today.
Why put soomeone behind bars for leaf, buds, seeds and stems matter, when a jobs can be ceated from the plant? Isn’that purtanical thinking.
Youths your frontal lobe isnt fully developed yet and the awakening you may experience from cannabis may distract you at a young age and divert your attention from matters that need to be tended to while you are young teens. Cannabis will be there when you are older, I would advise you wait until you have no more schooling or until you have real life issues before you start smoking or ingesting weed.
