Following the passage of category 5 hurricanes Irma and Maria that caused widespread disruption to the education system, H Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) said classes will resume on October 23, with lectures running from 8:30am to 4pm.

The government-owned college said classes that usually begin at 4pm or later are no longer being offered this semester.

“Students who are enrolled in these classes are encouraged to register for the same class earlier in the day if their schedule permits. Students registered for classes offered after 4pm for which they are registered, will be expected to complete the payment arrangements that were made,” HLSCC further said.

The college stated that students enrolled at its Virgin Gorda campus will have to relocate to Paraquita Bay on the island of Tortola.

“[They] are asked to visit the Registrar’s Office to register for appropriate daytime classes. The semester will end on December 20,” HLSCC said, adding that students should call or visit the college if they have questions concerning their classes.
