Businessman installed as Rotary Club President
Sanjay Surtani, the General Manager of the Pier Park business that was attacked by criminals last week, has been installed as president of the Rotary Club of Central Tortola.
Despite the crime committed against his employees and business, Surtani said he is filled with hope and excitement as he looks towards serving the community.
“Our Rotary theme for this year, ‘Create Hope in this World’ resonates deeply with the challenges we face in our ever-changing global landscape. It is a call to action, a reminder of our collective responsibility to cultivate peace and foster mental wellbeing within our
communities and beyond,” Surtani told the audience who gathered to celebrate his new appointment.
“Hope is the fuel that propels us forward, even in the face of adversity. It empowers us to dream, to imagine a better world, and to work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality. Each one of us has the power to be a beacon of hope, a source of inspiration and encouragement to those in need. Together, as Rotarians and human beings, we can amplify this hope and make a lasting impact on the lives we touch,” the businessman continued.
He also stated that in his opinion, the Rotary Club of Central Tortola and all Rotary clubs here in the BVI are uniquely positioned to drive transformative change in the community.
“By leveraging our collective skills, knowledge, and resources, we have the capacity to address pressing issues, uplift the marginalised, and champion the causes that matter most,” Surtani stated.

A well deserved appointment for someone who does a lot for the community.
@Hello
Makes you wonder what?
He is a really nice guy and hopefully uplifts this club and improves the membership with less malefactors in it.
He is a genuinely good guy and only more good things can come out of his appointment. After going through what was undoubtedly a terrifying ordeal that would make some people want to leave this ungrateful place, here he is mere days after pledging to continue to support the community. Naysayers be quiet.
