Immigration Officer charged with Breach of Trust over human smuggling
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged an immigration officer with three counts of breach of trust in a public officer.
Thirty-five-year-old Naima Grante of Old Plantation was arrested over the weekend and remains in police custody, while three men from the Dominican Republic are being held by Immigration authorities for their alleged involvement in human smuggling.
Police said the arrest is a result of ongoing joint investigations by the RVIPF, the Department of Immigration, and His Majesty’s Customs.
In the meantime, Commissioner of Police, Mark Collins, praised the cross-agency cooperation and the efforts of all officers involved in the investigation.
The RVIPF encouraged the public to call its anonymous Crime Tips line at 800-8477 if they have witnessed or have knowledge of any suspicious activity related to human smuggling in the territory.

These positions should be for Qualified Natives ( there is NO. LOYALTY ) to the Territory. — neither in the police force

What is still really going on with the officers within the IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT especially those working at the Ports of Entry or should I say those refusing to work at the Ports of Entry and refusing to clear boats. When will Senior Immigration officer G*****n G***t and officer N******a S****t who victimized Captain Enos and only cleared him when he paid them $$$$. No they won’t be charged cause it’s the biggest cover up in Immigration where they were reassisgned to the Miinistry of Finance. Meanwhile the big belly red skin one Moonsan has been seen in uniform receiving monies from one of the Pres Captains in Frenchmans Cay or some of the other Captains from WB and their associates who bring her lunch which explains why she selectively only processes certain vessels ahead of others, or will leave her booth when they signal her to get their passports to cut the line. This is all abuse of office, corruption, and breach of public trust and yet these officers still remain on the job! We need help, we need answers!!!!
