Infinite Solutions awarded $138K gov’t contract to source 500 laptops for local students
Online learning will soon become more accessible for a few hundred students as government has announced plans to source 500 laptops to support that learning platform.
In a May 8 statement, Premier and Minister for Finance Andrew Fahie said, Cabinet waived the tender process and decided to award Infinite Solutions a $138,800 contract to source these devices.
“We now look forward to our children and teachers receiving those laptops so that they can continue to prepare for the future of this territory,” the Premier stated.
He said his administration is very much aware that there are challenges associated with the sudden switch to online learning; one being students not having the necessary equipment to facilitate their remote learning.
“As a result, and in order to support their online schooling, as well as a few teachers who have the same needs, Cabinet realised the need for an economic stimulus-response in this area as well,” he stated.
Local education moved from the traditional classroom setting to online learning because of the coronavirus pandemic.

they always get the contracts, i wonder why
Let’s check the family tree and see who is related to whom. I think it will be eye opening. Same thing with the Premier renting office space for outrageous money for no reason from Auntie Remember, charity begins at home and in the BVI that means take care of the family with public money.
Ok captain obvious..so what do you have to offer? Nothing? ok I hear you…
you just love to be heard. damn it…….
$138,800 for 500 hundred Laptops. I wonder if it is for 500 of them or less. We the general public await for the money trail with the A Fahie after school project. Why did the learning centers never receive the fundings and computers they were suppose to get? Questions remains unanswered.
That’s $277.60 per computer. They must come with a sun dial as the clock.
