Isaac downgrades to tropical storm but maintains course
Isaac has downgraded to a tropical storm but might regain strength, the Department of Disaster Management has said.
Isaac has virtually maintained its course during the last 24 hours and is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms late Thursday.
The storm will dump about 15 millimetres of rainfall when it passes some 200 miles south of the BVI that day.
“Seven to 10 feet seas are possible beginning around Wednesday [and] marine advisories may be issued,” the DDM said while continuing to note that weather forecasts ‘subject to change’.
At 5am Tuesday, Isaac was located approximately 1121 miles east-southeast of the BVI with maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour.
