Former Acting Interim Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority, John Samuel has been appointed the new Director of Shipping at the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR).

He has been appointed on a one-year contract, BVI News understands.

I hope he cleans house quickly. Went in to register a boat and was told to use an agent for $750.00 to fill out the paperwork because they were too busy to want walk-in traffic. When that didn’t work, instead of handing me a complete set of forms with instructions they gave them to me two at a time so I had six or seven trips back to that office. I can register boats on line in three other registries for much less cost and aggravation but prefer to support where I Belong. There needs to be an online system for local registry vs Blue Book, where they just charge you every year and you never have to see them, as happens in St. Thomas

yup that’s what c*** wants after he done cash out and hand out licences

  15. Tell me says:

Why that office look like they still in Irma times??!

  16. Hmmmmm says:

That is where he belong. But it is the same old nonesense, just a small group getting appointed to everything. I bet any money that B**** will be appointed, Chairman of Trade Commission, Gambling Commission and Alcohol Commission as well as the Weed Commission. If not him one of the group members. A Government of the People should actually pick the people and not just friends.
