JUST IN: Willock approached the police days before his arrest

Former House of Assembly Speaker, Julian Willock.

BVI News has been reliably informed that former House of Assembly Speaker Julian Willock had made a complaint to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) days before his arrest.

The nature of the reported complaint is not yet clear to our news centre but sources close to the former Speaker told BVI News that his exchange with the police led to law enforcers requesting him to hand over his mobile phone.

He was arrested some time after on suspicion of human trafficking. And in a public statement following his release, Willock said his devices are still in police custody.

“I am yet to have my communication devices returned to me by the UK investigators,” the embattled former Speaker stated.

The RVIPF, in the meantime, have described the matter as “complex” and said they are still conducting investigations.

Willock, who is a latest of a growing group of past and present public officers to have attracted the attention of the police, has categorically denied the allegations against him.

BVI News will bring more on this developing story as information becomes available.

So it sounds like they approached him for his phone, he didn’t give it, the interaction led him to complain to a higher office about it and then they arrested him? this just adds more questions really

    Who eat the cheese?

This seems to suggest that he is the cause of his own undoing. My understanding is that he approached them and based on whatever the issue was, it caused them to request his devices and after searching them, that’s when he was arrested and questioned. Interesting as he is claiming to be a victim but this suggests some sort of backfiring. This guy just cannot seem to catch a break and its never his fault.

‘They’ trying to find some little bit of integrity and save our @$$es for future generations. People like Willock, who was never elected, and too many who were elected, could not care any less about the future of the VI; they only care about their pockets and keeping score over how many people they can push around.
    That’s no way to live.
That’s no way to be ruled.

  37. My Country says:

This damn UK is trying to take over the British Virgin Islands in a sly and tricky way. So they are arresting our officials and public Officers.

How come they are not arresting all them damn murderers, killers, those shooting and gunning
down people along with child molesters and robbers.

This whole thing is a damn setup by the UK to take down the BVI.

  38. @MY COUNTRY says:

my condolences , 2 U now how giving them the info on the p you yapping about or are the your family / or you just enjoying the white lady’s ?

  39. MyCountry2 says:

But we see it different –

“This damn UK is trying to take over the British Virgin Islands in a sly and tricky way” – Yes, UK is not to be trusted but let’s not forget, it is the British VI. There is a special kind of local patriotism that chooses to pretend it is not a territory of the UK since 1670 or something. Stop pretending they have no say in our islands like they appear our of the blue.

“So they are arresting our officials and public Officers.” – yes, they are because they our officials and officers of the public who have a role in our community. That role is not to be a rogue player and do what you want or what suits your bank account or friends or relatives. It is to serve the public, whoever they are. Thieves is thieves and when they are dressed up as servants of society but stealing from us and making our lives worse to make their lives better – screw them! They need to operate with integrity. Full stop.

“How come they are not arresting all them damn murderers …” etc.
You all always use this terrible terrible argument to make out like the UK is at fault on this. The reason it is so terrible is because it is an indictment of US, not the UK. it is us who a) do the murdering, shooting, child molestation and robbing – not UK cops. Why does such a small place have such high numbers for the above crimes compared to other places? it is WE doing the it.
Furthermore it us who put pressure on our own to keep our mouth shut and never give the po po any kind of lead. Ever. Even if we know damn well who did the crime. Cops don’t use crystal balls. They use witnesses and concerned citizens help them to stop dangerous and wicked behaviour from happening. Except here. We prefer to let it keep happening, and blame the UK.

“This whole thing is a damn setup by the UK to take down the BVI.”
Down? Down? How much more room it have beneath us? Look at our record on all the above. Look at your twisted efforts to avoid ANY part in the disaster and blame the white colonialists for everything.

This political tactic – very much promoted by Willock for years now – is all a fraud and it helps us to GET WORSE because we convince ourselves it is all their fault.

Blame UK where UK is wrong. Blame BVIslanders where BVIslanders are wrong. That’s it. Be honest. God is watching.
