Lazarus moment! Fraser was politically dead for 12 years — Skelton Cline

Fraser

Commentator and clergyman Claude Skelton Cline has likened Deputy Premier Julian Fraser’s return to government to a “Lazarus moment,” describing him as having been “out in a wilderness” for the past 12 years before his recent appointment.

Speaking on his Honestly Speaking radio show, Skelton Cline remarked that Fraser’s new position marked a significant comeback in BVI politics after years on the sidelines.

“The member of the Third [District]… has been in a political wilderness — politically dead, really, for the last 12 years,” he said.

Fraser, who now serves as Deputy Premier and oversees the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA), labour, and immigration, was appointed during a Cabinet reshuffle by Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley. The Premier’s move, reportedly aimed at stabilising the government, was acknowledged by Skelton Cline as a smart political strategy.

He described Dr Wheatley as a “thinking fellow” who has managed to stay “two or three steps ahead of everybody” to maintain stability and cohesion. Skelton Cline also noted that Fraser’s new role provides him a chance for a fresh start.

“He (Fraser) ought to thank God and his lucky stars that he can go out on some high, making hopefully some final contribution to these Virgin Islands, which I’m sure that he wants to do,” Skelton Cline said.

The clergyman dismissed any speculation that Fraser might disrupt government unity, asserting that Fraser “ain’t going nowhere” and will continue his contributions. Skelton Cline expressed hope that government officials would prioritise unity and the needs of the territory above personal ambitions.

Claude is no clergyman. He needs to stop playing with God before he feels his wrath in a much greater way.

  6. Eldread says:

@ csc: I here creating the atmosphere for Wheatley power entrenchment, casting this illusion that Fraser is going to be satisfied in second fiddle, and his appetite won’t grow larger for the premiership, natalio would give me what ever I want to defend him as an anonymous adviser on the payroll.

  7. disrupt? says:

not a chance he will disrupt he has what he wants and needed to get his project of land reclamation the go ahead in Seacows bay and is in charge to rubber stamp it.

    • Unfortunate says:

Is that the reclamation that is causing his family’s house to flood albeit that it is not very low to the ground. Government, had a right to look into that illegal reclamation a long time ago. Now he gets the chance to carry on with his alleged illegal project while disrupting people’s lives.

  8. And then... says:

Some people resurrect like Fraser, while others need to get lost like CSC.

  9. Continue Claude says:

  11. Blah Blah Blah says:

And you don’t understand that a man by the name of Jesus Christ never walked on planet earth. It’s a metaphor for an esoteric story that has been used politically for world domination and control. The sad part is that there is no way that those with the hook in their gill will ever see the light. They have been convinced to Just Believe and they will inherit a white robe and a golden crown in a place called heaven same as little children believe that Cinderella went to a ball in a golden carriage wearing a glass slipper. The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few.
