Lobster Fest 2023 serves up culinary bliss
The Anegada Lobster Festival (ALF) 2023 was a resounding success, further solidifying its position as one of the Caribbean’s most anticipated culinary events.
Coupled with Anegada’s vibrant atmosphere and diverse attractions, the BVI Tourist Board’s (BVITB) commitment to showcasing the island’s culinary heritage meant that the festival was yet another unforgettable experience for all who attended.
A mesmerising celebration of flavours and festivities, this year’s event seamlessly blended new additions with beloved traditions over three days (November 24 – 26).
Attendees immersed themselves in a sensory experience of sights, sounds, flavours, food, and fun, relishing the best of Anegada and celebrating a successful culinary extravaganza that will be remembered long after the final plates are cleared.
A dozen participating restaurants competed for the title of the ‘most tantalising palate’, showcasing succulent lobster samplers and entrees prepared in 12 different ways. From seasoned seafood enthusiasts to casual culinary adventurers, the ALF catered to diverse tastes and preferences, offering a range of delectable options.
The participating restaurants included Anegada Reef Hotel, The Big Bamboo Beach Bar & Restaurant, Cow Wreck Beach Bar & Restaurant, Flash of Beauty, KG’s Café, Lil Bit’s, Lobster Trap, Pink Flamingo Restaurant & Bar, Potter’s by the Sea, Sid’s Pomato Point Restaurant, Tipsy Beach Bar, and The Wonky Dog Restaurant & Bar.
Throughout the festival, patrons had the opportunity to explore Anegada’s breathtaking attractions, such as its pristine beaches, the iconic flamingoes that grace the island and the Anegada sign, among other wonders.
The entertainment lineup was also extraordinary, with live bands and DJs adding a rhythmic backdrop to the various festival venues.
Enhanced land transportation services ensured swift travel from the dock to chosen watering holes, eateries, and attractions, with shuttle services, taxis, car rentals, and scooters providing convenient choices for festival-goers.
Safety remained a top priority for the BVITB, as the festival partnered with the BVI Health Services Authority, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, and VISAR to provide essential services throughout the event.

1) All is needed is a trap and a boat.
2) No Zero prep work.
3) Zero to to little prepare.
Why do we continue to allow people to exploit our resources so mercilessly?
BVINews, yall need to learn how to put photos in a gallery or slideshow format.
The poor lobsters are safe , leave the things alone , soon they will become an endangered species
Another unsuccessful attempt by the Tourist Board. Spent all their money on shirts and nothing to draw in the crowd!
syndee need proper bazar Them thing long
More money was spent on shirts for the Tourist Board than proper event planning for this year festivities.
As usual our local Tourism Board shows why they are in the last place for hosting events in the Caribbean. Can’t even pull a decent crowd from the sister islands much less the neighbors in the USVI.
Call a spade a spade.
Lord God Almighty. Complaining and negative comments are what you do all day all night? No wonder some of you remain unhappy
No one likes naggers
Turnout looks very low compared to previous years unfortunately.
