Local hotspots light up with Super Bowl fans

Scenes from last night at a local bar on Tortola.

The British Virgin Islands was not left out of the action when the Philadelphia Eagles took home their first Super Bowl title, defeating the New England Patriots in a 41-33 win last night.

Fans of all ages turned out in their numbers at various local hotspots to witness the annual National Football League (NFL) championship final.

The cold night, which had a few scattered showers locally, did nothing to dampen the high-spirited atmosphere as hundreds watched the live game on the big screen with family and friends.

The game was held at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

R&B artiste Justin Timberlake, who is known for hits such as ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’, ‘My love’, and ‘Sexy Back’, provided entertainment during the half-time show in the United States.

Wow, lots of photos from only 1 local sports bar on Tortola. Where else in the BVI was this game televised?

    • Harrigan says:

Nobody else cares. This is the most boring, commercial-strewn sport on the planet. Just an excuse to be loud, obese and badly dressed while sitting on a plastic coated sofa surrounded by velvet Elvis pictures in a double-wide.

      • Retired says:

I guess you were not in any of the photos from the 4 sports bars on Tortola and the 2 on VG. Too bad. Looks like hundreds of visitors and locals were having fun and spending money.

        • Hank says:

Harrigan may have a point. A lot of the people in these pics look bored to tears. There’s only two pics showing anyone with any emotion! Maybe that was when the fries arrived.

  2. Guest says:

Boy look quiet in those photos…ROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Observer says:

Take note of all the so called Patriot fans this season. Next season the Patriots offensive coach is leaving, the Patriots defensive coach is leaving and Gronk might be retiring. Next year all those fair weather Patriots fans will tell you how they are not really Patriots fans but rather some other BS…It’s like searching for a Heat fan in 2018 they will be non-existent.

  4. Super says:

It was a good game! A nice distraction from all the politics and rebuilding.

  5. vi says:

Win or Lose I am a Patriots Fan to the bone

  6. See says:

A good game to watch no matter who won
