#HurricaneDorian: Locals with family in Florida told to contact Premier’s Office ASAP
Premier Andrew Fahie is urging all residents with family residing in Florida to contact his office with all their details as soon as possible.
Making the appeal on Monday, Fahie said this measure is to ensure the government stays in contact with those individuals to ensure their safety while Hurricane Dorian passes Florida in the United States.
“I’ve already instructed my office to get the WhatsApp chat group going so that we know where are people are in Florida. I hope that during times of emergencies that people look out for their own. My government and I are generally concerned about the safety of our students and Virgin Islanders who are living in Florida,” the Premier stated.
He further said: “We are concerned about their safety and want to reassure them that we are here for them. I am encouraging families to check in on their whereabouts and to do whatever you can to help them as they make preparations.”
Dorian devasted The Bahamas which had a massive and deadly category-five hurricane between Sunday and Monday. The weather system has since weakened to a category three hurricane and is now passing Florida.
At approximately 7 am Tuesday morning, September 3, Dorian was reportedly located 110 miles east-northeast of West Palm Beach, Florida and 35 miles northeast of Freeport, Grand Bahama. The Bahamas is still being pounded by Dorian.
In the meantime, persons from the BVI with relatives in Florida are asked to contact the Premier’s Office at 284-468-2152 and provide the name and contact number of their loved ones so they can be added to a Hurricane Dorian WhatsApp chat group.

What about the BVISLANDERS IMPRISONED ABROAD who is looking out for them ?????????
Most likely the prision officers and the state and country officials in which they broke the law are taking care of them. Like is done with people who break the law here.
This is an attempt to look after law abiding people who may have misfortune thrust on them.
but premier not easy we here Tortola suffer n hear at him just to make himself look good. ALYO THE BEST…
Stop telling lies on the Premier out of hatred.
How can you be so damn selfish. We was spared the worse of the storm. Storms is very tricky and sneaky. Suppose the storm decide to make a turn and head back to the BVI.
I urge you with families here in Florida to check in with the Premier’s. Office. This crazy storm is blazing towards Florida.
What we experiencing here is NOT like anything the Bahamians experienced. Be thankful and grateful and learn to pray not complain. Sometimes we have too many cry babies and too many crying wolf!
Most people has evacuated to higher grounds. The storm is expected to affect people in Georgia, South and North Carolina. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bahamas, they took a huge beating. The few pictures you guys saw is far worse. Total deverstation in the Bahamas.
