Lorna Stevens charged with breach of trust by a public officer
Assistant Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Lorna Stevens has been arrested and charged with Breach of Trust by a Public Officer.
The exact date of her arrest is not immediately clear to BVI News but the police told our news centre Stevens is now out on bail.
Stevens was among the public officers called to give evidence before the Commission of Inquiry (COI) last year. The COI’s interest in the her was in relation to the the controversial Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) perimeter wall project that reportedly suffered major cost overruns.
An investigation into the project was launched in March 2019 and since that time, local businessman Kelvin Thomas was charged with obtaining property by deception, making a false statement to a public officer, and possession of the proceeds of criminal conduct.

The current governor is upset with government and the handling of the COI changes that should me made.
But do this governor know we the people are upset with how he is deal with the COI.
It’s soon about to go for a year since the report of the COI has been completed. And locally only two arrested has been made.
And how will you arrest this lady and not any of her former Bosses. Truly now i believe in what the people of the VI are saying this Governor came with a hit list and only focus on those UK want him to focus on and try your very best to find a way to take over.
This governor has to go and also the top cop as well. they do not have the interest of the VI at heart.

If you don’t understand something you should keep quiet. Almost, every major investigation usually starts arresting the smaller fry so they can inform on the bigger sharks. The truth is all of you would have been content to see business carried on as normal and all the corruption and conflicts of interest and bribery etc continue. You were happy with the status quo not minding that the roads are crap, the schools are in a mess, social security benefits are too less and on and on as long as you and your friends and family were benefitting and could afford to buy shocks every couple months and send your children to private school. You don’t really care about the country. You never spoke up for honesty and integrity but you’re speaking up now with your ish. stfu
