Man arrested for writing nearly $30K in stolen cheques

A Baughers Bay man has been arrested on suspicion of obtaining property by deception for his involvement in a scheme that defrauded an unsuspecting resident of nearly $30,000.

BVI News understands that the man, whose name our news centre cannot yet verify, is a national of St Kitts.

It is understood that he gained access to the victim’s chequebook, which reportedly contained a some pre-signed cheques.

It is reported that the accused man then used those cheques to write a number of bank orders to his benefit.

Our news centre understands that he obtained the cheque book when he or an associate had access to the victim’s home to complete a job.

It is not yet clear whether he has been officially charged.

    Long Bush has some doing that also to one of their co worker stealing their stuff when they shop and even try to kill the person several times, everyone know all who are involved, check that Rasta labourer who walk with the bag on his back with 3 shirts on, he would go back after doing is act at the co worker home after back to his work place, they are heartless those ladies also are involved to hurt their coworker so sad we know all who are involved. The Governor need to check those public service staff before more happen to that worker.The worker keep saying they love their co worker but I for sure I would lock them up.

    mer-who ? he ain’t crazy , so therefore he fully knows what he was doing , anything he had should be sold and the money go to the victim and if thousands is still owed give him a year in jail for every thousand owed
