The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has recovered yet another firearm as well as a quantity of crack cocaine during two separate operations on Saturday, September 22.

Police said they seized a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun along with 15 rounds of ammunition from a vehicle.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was 35-year-old Halim Scatliffe of Huntums Ghut. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

“During the same afternoon, a quantity of crack cocaine and an illegal motorbike were also recovered. Charges are pending in relations to the both seizures,” the RVIPF said in a media release Sunday morning.

Police have been making a series of gun discoveries in recent times. The latest happened last week when cops receovered a firearm from Jhon Castillo, a native of the Dominican Republic.

Commissioner of Police Michael Matthews said he was “very proud” of his team of officers for the energy they have been exerting in the line of duty.

“We have seen the benefits of additional training in confiscating firearms and arresting those that carry them,” the Commissioner said.

    Great job officers!

Grown men should find honest and descent work to do, and not strive for quick fortune while breaking the law.

Run diagnostics…ensure that the weapon did not already kill.

Check the bike too…it might have been stolen. We know there were stolen bikes this month.

Catch them! Catch them AND CHASTISE THEM!
