UPDATE: Man in critical condition after shooting along Fahie Hill Road

A man is in critical condition following an early morning shooting along Fahie Hill Road on Monday, 3 November, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed.

According to police, the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds after the vehicle he was driving, a KIA Soul, came under fire. He was transported to the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Officers responded to the scene shortly after reports of gunfire were made. The area was cordoned off as investigators gathered evidence and launched inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The RVIPF said investigations are ongoing and urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 311 or the nearest police station.

This latest shooting follows a series of recent gun-related incidents across the territory, prompting renewed concern about public safety. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.

        And tell us wise one what is She can she do to stop this since you believe she can stop this. Listen the quicker we realise the facts the better. Crime is a business like it or not it is just that. And like any other business you enter to survive. With that said you can spend millions in the name of combating crime fact remain it womt make a differrence. Stop blaming the tail and forget the head cause the fall of any country is it government. People here dont respect the police so shit like this will happen stop pressuring Jackie Vanterpool cause the blind can see she working dam well considering the lack of resources. Follow me for a minute or 2. The governor is incharge of the police force mandates. The premise in the incident where police had to dive in the bush to save his life from a gun wailing child said the decidñsion to completely arm the police force sit with the Uk. Well shit i thought the governor role is to repersent the uk interest in the Virgin islands. But it gets more technical he the govenor is barely on the road however he has armed escort. What happen the the general public who has to face the reality on the street each and everyday. Meanwhile whose protecting the same lady you all love to drag throw the mud. Lets be wise. The gun crimes are serious appeal to the 14 blind mice in goverment the count of 14 is the 13 locals and the Governor rather than waiting for matter to get worst where a next government offical enter an establishment and get shot and sue said establishment siting that the security should be arm/ or in his word be equipted to execute his or her job. And win know dam well the police isnt arm either you see the problem here yet. It will reach the point where tourist with find themselve in cross fire then what. Pass the blame where it needs to be and pressure the right set of people not those who are working with what was giving you think she or anyone can stop a criminal with a plan.bigger countries has tried and bigger forces has fail. Oh gosh ease she up nah.

      @Hmmmm

      While I can appreciate your point that our elected government officials should be performing at a higher standard, it is important to note that matters relating to the Territory’s security fall under the Governor’s portfolio.

      It is interesting that some individuals choose to direct their concerns about certain discrepancies toward our elected officials rather than the Governor. Issues such as the recent prison break and the ongoing situation with the escaped inmates, along with any questions regarding the management of the prison or the security of our Territory, should properly be addressed to the Governor. However, it appears that because he is white and a UK national, he is often perceived as being beyond reproach.

      The UK’s approach has remained consistent over the years: they destabilize their Overseas Territories and allow internal divisions to grow, only to later reappear as the supposed savior once the chaos they helped create takes hold.

      Unfortunately, some people seem to have short memories and fail to recognize what is truly happening. Instead, they seize every opportunity to criticize their own, rather than questioning the broader system at play.
