Maynard gets 9-year sentence for drug conspiracy

Former Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority, Oleanvine Maynard

Former BVI Ports Authority Managing Director Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard was given a nine-year and four-month prison sentence for her role in a drug trafficking plot that involved convicted former Premier Andrew Fahie.

Besides the time in jail, Maynard, who is 62 years old, will also have to undergo five more years of supervised release.

The sentencing occurred in a Miami courtroom today, with United States District Judge Kathleen Williams overseeing the proceedings.

The former ports boss told a Miami court she helped the convicted former Premier orchestrate a Hollywood-style drug and money laundering conspiracy to smuggle thousands of kilos of cocaine through the territory’s waters and to hide the proceeds coming from their efforts.

Judge Williams selected a sentence that was lower than the recommended range of 11 years and three months to 14 years.

Maynard’s son, Kadeem Maynard, received a 57-month sentence in November 2023, but Fahie has not yet been sentenced and is scheduled for a court date on August 5, 2024.

Nope, she didn’t get frig as you stated. If she had pleaded not guilty like hard headed Andrew she would have gotten more time in prison. She is not stupid. She choose to let a court appointed Attorney represent her which was a smart move. Everyone think a court appointed Attorney is the bottom of the barrel Attorneys. He hire an expensive Attorney thinking because she is expensive she would get him off. Home girl acknowledge her role and pled guilty shaving time off her sentence. Andrew is looking at 20-40 years behind bars.

Now that’s a real justice system

She got 14 years. Once the 9 year sentence is over, she still have to spend 4 more years being court supervision. She will be spending the 4 years in a half way house until her official release and be deported out of the United States. That is crazy, mother and son serving jail time in the US. Yeah, Andrew is looking at 40- to life.

  4. So ok says:

She pleaded guilty and got 9 years, they are going to drop the hammer on Andrew for real.

Perhaps Andrew may get life. She pleaded guilty and she got 9 years and 4 months. Andrew who was found guilty on all 4 charges and pleaded not guilty, is probably going to get 40 years. 10 years for each count that he was found guilty on. No use in keep hollering FREE THE DREW. His goose is cooked. He can also file an appeal however, appeals cost hundreds of thousand of dollars and can take up to 3 years for the appeal Court to hear the case. The appeals court can also deny the appeal. All in all, let that be a lesson to all of you that think you can go over to America and do dirt. America laws are different. They catch you and find you guilty, you will pay the price.

The United States Justice system don’t care who you are related to, don’t care about family name, they find you guilty, they are going to send you to jail.Hunter Biden was just found guilty and he is the President of the United States son. Here in Tortola the Justice System is weak and crumbling.

Yeah, he is going to get at least 20 years. It is a possibility he may get 20 years. He just have to deal with whatever sentence the judge hand down.I bet he is shedding a whole lot of tears thinking about and missing his homeland. He give up his freedom. In the end, was it really worth it? I almost feel sorry for him but I can’t. People have to understand when karma strikes, it strikes back TENFOLD.
