McMaster advances to semi finals at World Champs

Local athletic sensation Kyron McMaster has won his heat of men’s 400-metre hurdles event at the World Athletic Championships happening in Budapest, Hungary.

He cruised to victory in a time of 48.48 seconds on Sunday August 20. Based on his run, the British Virgin Islander appears to be in good physical form, having slowed down considerably before crossing the finish line.

McMaster now advances to the semi-finals scheduled to take place on Monday, August 21.

McMaster is currently ranked as the third fastest man in the event this year. The quickest runners in the event for 2023 are Norwegian world record-holder Karsten Warholm and American Rai Benjamin.

Both Warholm and Benjamin have also advance to their semi-finals.
