McMaster books spot in World Champs finals
The BVI’s Kyron McMaster has advanced to the finals of the men’s 400-metre hurdles scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2023.
McMaster booked his place in the finals by winning his semi-final race inside the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary moments go.
He finished in an impressive 47.72 seconds ahead of Rasmus Mägi of Estonia and CJ Allen of the United States.
McMaster will go head-to-head against the three men who edged him out of a medal at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan back in 2021 – Karsten Warholm (world record holder), Rai Benjamin and Allison dos Santos.
McMaster is the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and the eighth fastest 400-metre hurdler of all time.
