Media worker charged in relation to forgery
A prominent journalist employed at a well-known media house in the British Virgin Islands has been arrested and charged for forgery.
The journalist, who BVI News understands is an expatriate worker, was arrested some time this month.
Details are sketchy but information to our news centre is that the journalist’s work permit application was flagged because of a discrepancy.
Our news centre was further told that this prompted the Labour Department to contact the police who later arrested and charged the media practitioner.
The journalist has since been released on police bail and is expected to make an appearance before the Magistrate’s Court at a later time.
