Meet the BVI’s first baby born in 2023
There are few things in the Virgin Islands that give as much hope as a baby born on New Year’s Day.
For 2023, Najeeba Lynch-Hackshaw and Nathan Hackshaw gave themselves and the territory the perfect gift of life, delivering a healthy baby boy on January 1 at the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital.
The baby boy was delivered around 9:07 am with the help and professional care of nurses and doctors at the hospital.
He weighed 3.85 kg and was presented with gift baskets from the National Bank of the Virgin Islands and BVI Health Services Authority.

Let’s hope that this isn’t an anchor baby
Welcome little one, there is room for you to do God’s bidding.
Is there anything as an anchor baby in the BVI? In order for a child to acquire citizenship, one of the parents must be a citizen.
Why are some people so horrible? A new life has been brought into the world. Either congratulate the couple or scroll on past!
They can say what they want I know bamboo lighting is a happy grandfather….
The crude and disrespectful comments are not necessary. It’s God that made all of us and not we ourselves. Congratulations. Take care of that little one in Jesus name.
So what if it’s an anchor baby? Who is you to judge? The baby born here and that’s enough, you’ll too foolish with this your not from here talk” rubbish” this s**t talk need to stop
Happy new year little one u are going to be blessed
