Methodist Church ordains two ministers
Two Methodist Ministers will be ordained this evening at the Sea Cows Bay Methodist Church as part of the 218th Annual Meeting of the Leeward Islands District of The Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA) meeting in BVI 11-20 January.
The MCCA Connexional President, Bishop, The Reverend Everald L. Galbraith will preside at the Service of Ordination.
The highlight of the Methodist Church’s Annual Meeting taking place in the British Virgin Islands 11-20 January is the ordination of two itinerant presbyters, the Rev. Erick Valentin Alexander and the Rev. Jean Ronald Charles.
The Ordination Service takes place at the Sea Cows Bay Methodist Chapel commencing at 6pm this evening (Jan 18).
In accordance with the Constitution and Discipline of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA), Connexional Bishop, the Reverend Everald L. Galbraith will preside over the Service of Ordination and deliver the charge to the Ordinands to administer discipline, to be shepherds of God’s people and evangelists of God’s Kingdom.
The General public is invited to join with Methodist and friends for the Ordination Service, and also on Friday, 19 January in a Communion Service at 7pm at the Road Town Methodist Church which will signal the closing of Conference.
The Methodist Church in the BVI is one of 15 Circuits and a Mission that comprises the Leeward Islands District of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA).
The District meets each year, triennially in full Conference and in Council during the intervening years. The Church is headed by the President of the Connexional Conference who has pastoral and spiritual oversight over the whole church
