Mitch accuses Premier Wheatley of still taking directions from Fahie
As election campaigns heat up, Labour Minister Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull has levelled accusations at Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley of taking directions from disgraced former premier, Andrew Fahie.
According to the damning indictment released after his arrest in April last year, Fahie used the alias ‘Head Coach’ to disguise his interactions with his alleged co-conspirators — former Ports Authority Director, Oleanvine Maynard, and her son Kadeem ‘Blacka’ Maynard — as they made plans to secretly shepherd illegal drugs through the territory’s ports and pocket the proceeds.
Turnbull, the Second District Representative for the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM), alleged that Dr Wheatley consulted with Fahie at the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) congress in selecting the VIP’s District 2 candidate, Marieta Flax-Headley.
According to Turnbull, Flax-Headley is dear and near to his heart and the two share a mother-son relationship. However, this did not prevent him from making the claim that his VIP opponent in the Second District was being unduly influenced by the territory’s embattled former premier who is the VIP’s former Chairman.
“Head Coach (Fahie) make a call in the congress and tell [Headley] [she] must run,” Turnbull alleged during the PVIM’s weekend candidate launch.
Turnbull questioned whether it was true that Fahie was still running the country behind the scenes and interfering with the territory’s affairs even as he awaited trial while on house arrest in Florida. “You letting a man who fighting for his life still lead you, and you’re telling me you’re a leader?” Turnbull asked.
“We must, we have to, and we got to put [the VIP] out,” Turnbull chanted. “It is no way that you’re talking about this country that has been embarrassed on the world stage.”
Turnbull urged voters to replace the scandal-plagued VIP with his PVIM where its leader, Ronnie Skelton, has never been arrested, accused, or faced a criminal charge. He added that Skelton has also never been involved in any court case that deals with mismanagement.

I mean I could believe what he saying but mitch will either have to say he was present during the congress meeting and heard for himself or he going to have to call the name of the humpy dumpy in the congress who let the cat out the bag.
Mitch praised Sowande as the Premier that avoided UK takeover. Mitch served in Sowande’s Cabinet. Mitch was Minister of Natural Resources & Labour in Sowande’s Cabinet. Mitch didn’t complain once when he was Minister because he has a nice tint out big jeep paid for by taxpayers. Now he wants to be Deputy Premier he is cracking the whip. Some people have no shame, I really did not expect this behavior from this young man. If Hon. Wheatley was taking instructions from Head Coach as Premier then Mitch by extension was taking instructions from him as well.
What the h**l is wrong with people? Andrew Fahie was arrested in the USA and granted bail, which means he has access to his communication devices. Prior to his downfall he was the head of VIP and the Premier so do you think he will just stop contacting them? He is on trial and has not been yet found guilty. He has shamed the BVI yes especially if found guilty in his trial but what is so bad about him being in contact with his party? Where is the proof that Mr. Fahie is directing or instructing anyone? Stop with the petty bulls**t and tell the people how you will make their lives better. Mitch I am disappointed in you. I don’t think anybody is surprised that Andrew is in contact with his party and who really cares. PVIM was nowhere around for COVID and nowhere around for the COI and recommendations. Years ago Mitch pioneered his Lion Heart movement which looked after many troubled youth and did wonderful things in the community. Mitch has been elected for 8 years, two terms. What has Mitch done for the young people? Every time I hear his name it is associated with an argument or some form of confusion. Can someone please tell me a few things, or even one thing that the young man has done for 8 years being in elected office.

What I want to know is how Mitch know this information. He isn’t a member of VIP congress, He don’t have a wiretap on Sowande phone, Ms. Headley or Sowande didn’t confess to him. The only logical answer is if Fahie himself tell Mitch this story to cause confusion because Sowande was quick to push Fahie out the helm and take his spot. The question is would Mitch collude with Fahie if it helps his team get elected. The only thing is that head coach plays the game better than Mitch. It was head coach that say that Mitch came to him to be a member of VIP which Mitch denied but the streets say that it was true.
People should know the difference between Reality & Their Imagination. And if they don’t know it, they need professional help immediately.

Well, every morning I wake up I think am finding a winner for this election, they are decreasing by vast numbers. Can we get more people to run. People with knowledge of International Trade Policy, vast knowledge of the Laws, civil,trade, etc. Engineering and technology skills, cultural and diversity, Sustainability On Agriculture, Youth Entrepreneurship and sustainable Development. And many more.
These people are trying to play the old game with new tools, we see you far from a distance. If the guy is still the chairman, he has the right to still perform his duties, because you did not see if fit to remove him. however, she will not win , she also knows it so why is that woman there? The Cabinet is who passed legislation and comprises of 5 members, minister ministers; so to say or believe someone is advising or running the country from somewhere is utter nonsense, foolishness; especially coming from someone claiming to be a man of God, surrounded by Bishops and other men and women of the cloth.
It is about time these want to be politicians get off the nonsense bandwagons and simply tell the audiences what their plans and visions are, how they would implement their visions and plans: where the funding capital would be coming from; would it mean a greater Tax burden, the jobs that would result from the project/s.
If this way of campaigning, (instead of Trashing each other), it would reduce the cost of Campaigning and investing in pallets of Plywood, 2 x 4 nails and manpower. Now this is real talk.
IF that man in custody really did call last weekend’s VIP meeting, we need to know: we need confirmation one way or another.
IF he did make that call, we need to know if the entire slate knew about it, or just one or two idiots with cell phones who live in the past planned it and ambushed the other candidates.
We need facts and we need names…..c’mon bvinews, help us voters out here- this whisper campaign ain’t good enough.
