Motorists warned again

Within months of making an appeal for motorists to desist from traveling with loose material such as gravel on the public road, the government has found it necessary to make another such appeal.

The government, in a public notice this afternoon (July 7), stated that the roads are made unsafe whenever they are littered with the fallen material.

“Motorists are reminded to secure truck trays while traveling with loose material like gravel and cement on the public road. Unsecured truck trays with material cause debris to fall onto the road, making it unsafe for other motorists using the roadways,” said the Government Information Service.

It added that motorists should also continue to help keep the territory’s roads driver-friendly for both residents and visitors.

The government, in January this year, made a similar appeal to motorists who can be charged for traveling with material that is not properly secured.
