Mrs British Virgin Islands Shondrea Turnbull has a strong chance of placing as a top-five finalist in this year’s Mrs Globe Pageant being in Shenzhen, China.

This is because Mrs BVI is currently ranked fourth out of 80 contestants in the people’s choice voting competition. And if successful in gaining the most votes, she will automatically qualify into the top five.

“This year actually even before Shondrea is going to arrive in Shenzhen, we are actually number four – we have a virtual voting for the people’s choice which started on November 1 and we have been holding a strong fourth place, which means that person is logging on to the website and voting for the BVI,” said Women’s International Network (WIN) BVI Director Alicia Green.

She further said: “We just want to encourage persons to continue to vote, continue to follow her because if we win that particular pole, it gets her an automatic position in the top 5 for the finalist of the pageant.”

Persons are able to vote for Turnbull by visiting her personal Mrs Globe website. Each vote costs $10. However, Turnbull said the monies collected through the competition will go towards the WIN Foundation fund, which will assist with meaningful projects.

“All you do is type in Mrs British Virgin Islands Shondrea Turnbull. You can vote as many times as you want, $10 per vote. But again it goes to women in need and a really good cause.”

Director Green whose organisation is responsible for sending Mrs BVI to China believes this is the beginning of very successful pageantry tourism for the BVI.

“We have actually been participating in the Mrs Globe since 2014 and have been doing extremely well with the candidates we have put up,” she said.

The Mrs Globe competition is a fundraiser event for WIN Foundation which is a non-profit organisation, that helps women globally.

The competition runs from November 29 to December 8.
