    • ??? says:

This is what happens when a society is allowed to operate without rules and the Police are frowned upon when they “attempt” to do their job every now and then…When little children can roam the street and ride illegally/recklessly without consequence. I’m actually surprised things took this long to fall apart….

      • Positive says:

Stop the negativity. Lift up your head. Wish the country the best and pray for th country if you know how

      • watcher says:

Pretty soon some UK journalist is going to start writing stories about “gun island ” and the “murder capital of the world” and ” sunshine tax haven turns into dodger city ” etc.

Watch what happens to tourist numbers when they do.

Action now Governor because its your responsibility.

        • Tourist in the Island says:

For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done. What needs to be done is to engage and make a difference. Not to wait for things to get done by others.

  2. Nothing But Prays says:

What is really happening to our Beautiful Tortola ????

    • ord says:

What you mean what happen. The police are p—— thats what happened. The premier is getting flack for a bunch of bs but nobody saying shit about the governor and commissioner. Why arent they bringing officers from overseas like they did after the storm. This is a national emergency and action needs to be taken.

      • Really??!! says:

Mehson!! No matter how much police they bring, if the people who know what’s going on ain’t talking then much crimes ain’t going get solved. If people who know say something to the police this create leads that the police can follow, which can possibly lead to evidence and bringing the perpetrator(s) in. Just my 2 cents.

      • Janice says:

  4. bring back the curfew says:

    • You talking $%^* says:

Why don’t you say stop hiding the criminals and gun men? You talking about bring back curfew. Do you know how stupid and ignorant you sound? People need to start talking and saying what they see and know, until then no amount of curfew or street lights will stop a damn thing. Bring back curfew, like that going stop a man from doing what he want to do. You will just see shooting happening in broad day light that’s all.

  5. state of emergency says:

Bring back those police from the other jurisdictions because they were doing a better job

  6. Karma says:

I might be wrong, but it seems like from the time they KILLED THAT INNOCENT CHILD, things started to get crazy. I’m guessing they killed the wrong people at West End and opened Pandora’s box. But that’s just my opinion.

  7. Sue says:

It gwine stop as soon as parents realise that their offspring are chirren for as long as them can’t self support and younjis have to be at them side until they are educated or skilled enough to fend. And as long as a child need your support them best understand how to enter into your home. And fornthem to understand how things go in your house you have fe live a certain way. Don’t ever give them any chance to answer you back. So go kiss you frog but tis where and how.

  15. lawyer says:

Implement more stop and search. Especially on weekends. Put more police presents in the hotspots or around the night clubs. They like to walk with their guns during these times. A lot of “good citizens” safe keeping guns for the criminals. Show no mercy on them.

  16. Saddened from afar says:

As said previously, when corruption is allowed to go rampant within any society, the society and its people suffers gravely. One can never curb corruption 100%, but when the powers to be knowingly wear “blinders” to what is going on and in so doing, indirectly sanction it, unfortunately as the adage states, “you get what you ‘paid’ for.” The squeaky wheel gets the oil. People of Tortola, collectively rise up and loudly speak up by action, that you are no longer going to settle for such….

  17. Mercyme says:

Look it is simple, God is just fed up of the wickedness in this land. We have turn to Him now seek His face ask forgiveness all of us. Stop behaving so proud like we are self made.. No, we are not! Remember God sees all… Remember that.

  18. Bvi lover says:

When we have passed laws, they do work, Jeff. Purchases of large quantities of ammonium nitrate fertilizer was restricted after the Oklahoma City bombing and we haven’t had a similar bombing since. We’ve outlawed fully automatic weapons, grenades, rocket launchers, etc. we now don’t see deaths from these weapons, here. All of the semi automatic assault type rifles used in these school shootings were purchased lawfully. If we change the laws it can work. The ban we had from 94-2004 reduced these type shooting by 40% even with the loopholes. We need to have it again and eliminate the loopholes. And of course, we need to enforce the laws we have more effectively. had an assault rifle ban in place for ten years, from 1994 until it lapsed in 2014. It had tons of exemptions and plenty of holes that you could drive a Mack truck thru, (thanks to the NRA, and it’s “paid for” politicians). But it worked to reduce mass shootings…. “Compared with the 10-year period before the ban, the number of gun massacres during the ban period fell by 37 percent, and the number of people dying from gun massacres fell by 43 percent. But after the ban lapsed in 2004, the numbers shot up again — an astonishing 183 percent increase in massacres!” C’mon people, we have to at least try something!!!!
