Nearly 100 test negative for COVID-19 in BVI’s latest batch
Close to 100 new persons who were tested for COVID-19 have returned negative results, Health Minister Carvin Malone has said.
Addressing members of the media on Tuesday night, August 25, he stated: “Today, we are pleased to announce that 92 persons being tested — the lab had all negative.”
The minister said the number represents the latest batch to be tested in the territory.
These test results follow news of the five new COVID-19 positive cases that were announced only a day earlier. This bumped the number of active cases in the territory to 17.
In the meantime, the Health Minister said a widespread coronavirus screening exercise is ongoing in the territory.
“Today, three teams went out to Anegada and they collected samples from 293 persons, and we had 23 from before and five so we can say we have 321 persons on Anegada,” he stated.
The number of tests that have been conducted at the territory’s laboratory to date is well in excess on 2,000.
Premier Andrew Fahie, who also commented on the territory recording all negatives, said: “I never thought in my life that I would be glad to hear persons are negative but in this COVID-19 era. That’s a plus.”

Oh please for now wait until ending of the week or next week them pale people have and brought this virus in here.
How come no one tell us about the corona virus up the prison???????
Remember the 2 persons returning to the BVI tested negative at first then many days later came up positive. . . Don’t count your chickens until they hatch. . .
Or just wake the heck up to the reality that there are many, many cases of Covid 19 in the BVI and even up the prison
