Nearly 200 visitors in 2 days! No positive COVID cases so far
Premier Andrew Fahie has announced that to date, all travellers who landed in the territory on December 1 have tested negative for COVID-19.
Upon arrival at the Terrance B Lettsome International airport, all travellers have to undergo a COVID-19 test before they are allowed into the community. They’ll also have to take another test on the fourth day in quarantine.
Premier Fahie said a total of 107 guests arrived on December 1.
“Yesterday (December 2) was day-two. So 88 persons landed at the airport and they all have been tested. By this evening we will know if all of them have tested negative,” Premier Fahie explained.
The Premier was speaking today at an official opening ceremony for the airport’s new Welcome Centre. The Welcome Centre was built within a month this year and is the area where incoming travellers will be assessed and equipped with COVID-19 resources before they are allowed into the BVI community.
The Centre is equipped with a lounge, swabbing stations, isolation rooms, restrooms and other amenities to ensure safety amid the threat of COVID-19.

How did they get in? The last time I checked the portal still isn’t working. I have been trying everyday.
Take a look on Facebook group “BVI Alive”. There are several people that have been posting about the Portal (it works!) and the entire experience.
Lambert beach Resort is so nice, I like it its open up, its big and spacy and the fresh breeze..I enjoy my stay..
Yup you write and sound just like a tourist, lmfao. You sound more like the maintenance guy. Definitely not from the US.
@luis. Mostly belongers
How many Visitors, not counting other travellers, such as returning residents and Belongers? What is the status on the wrist bands? I am informed they were deemed not to work and have stopped being given out, but they are still being charged for! Doesn’t anyone, ever, test this stuff?
Unfortunately they are not waterproof or shockproof. I took a shower and mine stopped working. Brother tripped and hit his against the wall and it broke.
We’ll just leave them in the room.
Forgot to mention that the airport had no vivid tests and all guests had to get taken to the hospital to get tested… details details…
Stop pushing ur own hotel in that way…Lol…Ppl will come. Jus Be patient
Good job BVI
You just can’t make this s**t up.
