Nelson’s body returned home

Dr Robert Wright (left) of Davis Funeral Home receives the cheque from former President of the Association of Jamaican Residents James Angus

The body of the slain Sherika Nelson arrived home in Jamaica last week; thanks to residents of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) who provided financial assistance.

A total of $2,500 was donated to help foot the cost of having the murder victim’s body repatriated.

The sum was raised through an initiative led by the Association of Jamaican Residents (AJAR) in the BVI.

The funds were handed over to Davis Funeral Home in Purcell Estate, where the body was being kept.

The murder victim’s family has expressed gratitude to persons who dug into their pockets to assist.

Nelson will be laid to rest this Saturday, July 29, in Clarendon, Jamaica – the parish where she was raised.

Nelson was slaughtered last month at her matrimonial home in Greenland, BVI. Her Vincentian husband, Lennox DaSilva, has been charged with murder.
