New ferry routes approved between USVI and sister islands
The BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) has announced the approval of additional international ferry passenger service routes to the neighbouring US Virgin Islands (USVI).
In a media release today, the Ports Authority said it approved routes between the USVI’s Red Hook, St Thomas and Cruz Bay, St John to the sister islands of Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Anegada in the BVI. These are additions to the existing service routes between Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas and Road Town in Tortola.
International ferry passenger service at the West End Ferry Terminal has also been approved for resumption.
Ferries from Cruz Bay and Red Hook to Jost Van Dyke will operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. The ferries will depart at 8 am and 7:30 am, respectively.
Meanwhile, the return ferries will depart Jost Van Dyke at 3:30 pm.
Meanwhile, ferries departing Cruz Bay to Virgin Gorda will leave at 7:30 am and return at 2:45 pm. Departure from Cruz Bay to Anegada will start at 7:30 am and the return trip leaves at 2 pm.
The BVIPA also encourages visitors to check the commencement dates and scheduling details for the new service routes with ferry operators, especially for ferries going to Virgin Gorda and Anegada.

increase the passenger limit per trip
The passenger limit is restricted by the USVI Government not BVI.
When service to St. John will resume??
Why not from Tortola to Red Hook and Cruz Bay as well?
The USVI governor continues to run circles around our politicians. They have the ferry system in their favor and they have infiltrated our health system where no major improvement is seen as yet.
And they infect our men with sorcery and evil cats.
What about service to San Juan?
from west end should only take 2 1/2 hours. Lessen the rough water exposure going to Fajardo on East side of PR
What new ferry company ? No name mentioned.
No new ferry company. This signals a return to the regular services curtailed by Covid restrictions.
Nice
Any idea as to timing of opening up charter boats to enter the BVI from the USVI
And the fares for these ferry rides?
What are the fares for these ferry rides? Asking from Illinois!
