New offices acquired for Supreme Court Registry

Supreme Court Registry to be located in this building

The government has acquired new offices for employees of the Supreme Court Registry, who have been working in an unsuitable environmental condition.

The new offices are located on the third and fourth floors of the SAKAL Building, beside the Festival Village in Road Town, Tortola.

Government, in announcing the new location, did not specify when the Supreme Court Registry will start operating from the new offices.

It however stated that contractors are being sought to configure the new offices, as well as to procure and install the air conditioning system. Tender documents are available at the Procurement Unit, RFG Place, along Waterfront Drive in Road Town.

The Supreme Court Registry is currently located at the old Administration Building on Main Street, Road Town.

However, longstanding concerns about air quality at that location recently prompted a scale-down of operation.

There was also public outcry recently when some Supreme Court Registry employees were made to work under a tent at Sir Olva Georges Plaza, located across from the Road Town Jetty.
