Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic officially reopens
The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has announced that the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda has resumed operations after an extended closure due to Tropical Storm Ernesto.
The storm had primarily damaged the facility’s air conditioning system and power supply, causing the BVIHSA to temporarily move clinic services on the sister island to a temporary location.
The clinic reopened on Wednesday following a deep cleaning and the installation of mobile air conditioning units. Repair work on the backup generator and the air conditioning system is ongoing.
The BVIHSA said mental health and nutrition services are still available by appointment only. Home care services remain available to residents of the North Sound community.
The BVIHSA is working to fully restore all services and calls for the public’s continued patience. The clinic is now open daily from 7 am to 7 pm.
