Nyron Erickson allegedly re-arrested on return to BVI
Police have confirmed the arrest of one male who returned to the territory earlier today. The individual is suspected of being involved in a spate of violent gun crimes which occurred in the territory recently, police suggested.
Officials did not release the name of the suspect in custody, however, reports suggest that the male who was arrested is former fugitive from justice, Nyron ‘Bat’ Erickson.
Erickson returned to the BVI today after being extradited earlier this year to face drug charges in the United States. However, prosecutors reportedly dropped charges against him recently for lack of evidence.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said the man was arrested along with three others who were allegedly found in possession of ammunition in a vehicle in which they were travelling.
Police said investigations into the incident remain dynamic and promised to reveal further details at a a later time.
