Officials mum on reports that senior cop under investigation
Officials with responsibility for national security have declined to confirm reports that a senior officer within the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is under investigation.
BVI News received information suggesting that a high-ranking police officer is currently the subject of an internal investigation. In response, our news centre contacted Commissioner of Police Mark Collins, who stated he could not comment on the matter.
Further inquiries were made with the RVIPF’s Information Unit, which redirected us to the Office of the Governor, as the Governor holds portfolio responsibility for the RVIPF. However, the Governor’s Office also declined to comment on RVIPF matters and directed our news centre to the police force.
Although both the Governor’s Office and the RVIPF refused to comment, neither office denied the claims of an ongoing investigation.
This silence raises further questions about the current circumstances within the RVIPF. The police force is currently preparing to enter a transition phase as Commissioner Collin’s tenure as top cop draws near to an end.

They are trying to tarnish the reputation of a decorated Police Officer due to his impeccable record and the fact that he is the number one local contender for the job of Commissioner of Police. The same way they handled the Deputy Commissioner process, where one spot was available, which he earned fair and square but was not the expected result making room for 2 deputies. Deja vu. This has nothing to do with a bad cop at all. The current commissioner needs to leave the BVI ASAP.
