One dead in Road Town shooting Sunday morning
A man was killed in a shooting incident in Road Town early Sunday morning, July 28. The incident occurred near Market Square.
Highly placed sources indicate that the victim was shot and killed while traveling in his car, which was riddled with bullet holes. Several spent shells were observed at the scene, indicating that multiple shots were fired at the victim.
As of publication time, the police were still processing the scene and had not released the man’s identity.
This incident marks the second shooting within hours. Just before midnight on Saturday, July 27, at least one person was injured in a separate shooting in Baughers Bay. It is not yet known whether the two shootings are related.

Yuh live that kinda lifestyle you die by that kinda of lifestyle.
Don’t envy certain groups on Tortola cuz you never know how they got there. Few make it 50 and the rest die young. And as usual got child all over the place for women with no sense in them noggin
Might not be the best place to hold the annual Festival next week?

in paradise for sure. A murder, an attempted murder and a deceased person adrift in a dinghy all in the last 24 hours.
Really? I thought we were an honest, hard working people and that the UK was falsely painting us a rotten little island..Many were offended…Those people will still find a way to blame the UK though. We are in some serious denial in these Virgin Islands.
Stop it the same things happening in the UK they need to clean there house first
Lets get our independence from the UK so we can become Haiti ?
There are many persons who relocate are criminals. The BVI need to be very careful who relocate to the BVI. This place was once a peaceful place to live, not many crimes. There are many great person who migrated and has been a great asset to this great nation and we commend thoes person. Too much killing. Our young men, fathers, brothers and son. Lord help this little nation.
There are also a lot of BV Islanders who are violent criminals. Stop trying to blame others for BVI problems!
You all never own up to nothing why you believe only people that came to this island can do wrong when very well know what is going on
you seems to know a lot , why don’t you lend some of your knowledge to the police and you will be doing a service to the country , the people of the country has a role to play in the wellbeing of their country / but and some would rather hide secrets and point their fingers at the police , the governor and the UK
You sound stupid even disputing that comment! They are RIGHT! The first 48hrs are CRITICAL to gather as many facts as they can in order to properly investigate! Zero details, yet asking for the public’s help is pointless. Someone may have seen the victim moments early and have a crucial piece of evidence. No name, no vehicle description NOTHING!
THANKS FOR YOUR VINDICATION THE PUBLIC IS MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP THE POLICE THE BARRIER IS (TRUST) NOT FEAR IN MY HEART WHEN I CALL ANY POLICE STATION AND REPORTED A CRIME NEXT THING YOU HAVE THE CRIMINALS CALLING MY PHONE AND SENDING THREATS WORK WITH US NOT AGAINST US WE ARE NOT YOUR ENEMIES.
Really who the hell got shot and killed the public needs to know mr commisssioner of police give as a fing break

Low**** cry now for your bi**h now u a dirt cop better if know what good for dirt cop d** with coke on them
Killings up, robberies up, corruption in government and the civil service endemic and huge hesitation to put things right…. Why would anyone from overseas wish to invest in the BVI, or expand the services offered through here?
This country needs to get its S**T together quickly and reverse these trends or the gravy train will stop and go into reverse. And with all the abuse that has been hurled at non-Belongers over the years, they will happily leave and then we really will have our country to yourselves and good luck to those who stay.
International investors were attracted to and invested in these VI when there were ZERoooo non belongers,
ST Barts and other non Belonger infestation small territories are functioning examples of what living is like without the CARICrumbs. ZER000 crime and Zerooopoverty.
Invest…YES
Infest,…Nooo
St Barths is also one of the few Carribbean Islands that is predominantly ……white. about 90%.
Smart. They see what works and what is a detriment.
Self preservation is key.
Self destruct is lunacy even when the blame game and victim mentality is the plan.
The financial services world is not the same as it was when the ballooning growth started in the BVI. Standards globally were far more relaxed and international investors took advantage of a great piece of legislation that the BVI had. The FSC has done a great job in tightening standards to cope with changing requirements since then, but the easy money (of tax evasion and criminals) has rightly disappeared and modern investors are far more discerning.
You are totally wrong to compare BVI with St. Barts. That is considered a piece of France and has appropriate laws that are enforced.
And your xenophobic attitude is one that also will deter investors. Since you appear to have so much hatred for your fellow Caribbean nationals – who are needed in the BVI to do the jobs that you don’t want to do – I’d suggest that your heart is infested and significant forgiveness from the Almighty is needed.
If Investors would be deterred by the plundering of civility by a specific group of animals, they
Would bypass that zoo.
And so they did and they continue to bypass the zoos …Hence they come to the BVI and the zoo animals follow because they are hungry but alas..they cannot function in civility and create mayhem ..
Without doubt that is the scenario for loosing investors.
So, the victims were a T*dman and a S*ith, so you cannot say that Belongers are innocent in the criminal activity in the country. Report your own criminals to rid the country of its own vermin.
I just read an article on the yellow site and had to come here to comment, knowing they wont post my comment.V*** is a Disgrace! They have got to find a way to politicise just about everything. One article related to a shooting, speaks of crime rate “going up under CoP collins”, with the yellow sites “heads” fully knowing that these recent shootings, for the most part, arent spontaneous and has absolutely NOTHING to do with collins tenure or any CoP for that matter. V*** are a complete disgrace and should not label themselves as ethical journalists in any form or fashion. Every article is aimed at controversy no matter the topic or discussion.
Booooooo v***.
I see some females posting “why take a good father from their kids.”
A good father does get gunned down in street like someone had a hit on him??? Waaa
One of them that posted it was a miss bvi contestant too
Wtf
Y’all knew the kinda lifestyle some these guys live and you still weep knowing life would catch up with them eventually
Dumb and dumber
As the Yellow site continues their smear campaign on Mr. co***ns and blaming him on every crime committed. Also writing articles on J****N W****k’s behalf and agender. Thank you BVI News for the non bias news reporting. No matter who police commissioner is, these street thugs still gonna do their thing. All come from broken homes and ZERO accountability from the parents is the root of the issue.
now ayo going make co**ell stay home
he got to pay for a**m!!! b**ez done going do life in balo
