One male to be reported for assault in viral gas station brawl
At least one person is expected to be reported to law enforcement officials after a troubling video of a physical dispute made the rounds on social media last week. The video, which depicted three males at a Sea Cows Bay establishment, was widely shared on WhatsApp and discussed on Facebook.
The start of the video showed a man involved in a scuffle with a much younger male at a gas station in the community. The man was warning the youth over what he suggested was the bullying of his children.
As the video progressed, the older man became incensed after the younger male issued what he (the older man) perecieved to be a threat and the scuffle between the two escalated with him overpowering the youth and pushing him onto a crate of bottled water.
It was at this point that a much taller man intervened on behalf of the youth and separated the two.
The tall male warned the older man in an expletive ladened exchange to leave the youth alone while shoving him (the older man) away. He repeatedly told the older man to go into his car and stated that the younger male was just a little boy while the other man was a ‘big [expletive] man’.
The matter appeared settled at this point, but then the older man repeated his earlier warning to the youth about leaving his children alone. At this stage, the taller male rushed towards the man and shouted that this was the last time the older man would threaten the youngster.
He then dealt the older man several slaps to the face in the presence of stunned onlookers, stating that there was nothing the man could do about it.
Other bystanders who were also filming the episode quickly rushed towards the two and tried to separate them before the video ended.
When contacted by BVI News about the incident, a spokesperson for the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) would only say that “one male will be reported for common assault” and that investigations are ongoing in the matter.
The police declined to state which of the persons involved in the affair would be reported, noting that no one has been charged with any offence as yet.

not gonna lie, having your child bullied is very hard for a parent to deal with. Secondly I don’t think I could stand up and take a slap from somebody, would have to brawl like wild animals at that point,

I am against violence but there are some bullies about the BVI terrorizing people children in schools. Let one of them make the mistake and bully my child and all hell will break loose in this place.
That doesn’t give him thee right to man handle anybody child. He is an officer, practice what you preach, report it, not take the law into your own hands. If one going to be charged, all need to be charged. Some of these officers think they above the law. What goes for the goose goes for the gander.

It WAS reported many times and they did nothing even being one of them. POLICE ONLY ACT WHEN VIDEOS LIKE THESE START FLYING. Why dont they show the video of the so called child slapping up he child on the court. If that was my child, I would be in a jail cell all now. I see multiply videos on social media with the same gentleman’s sons been physically abused by his peers..it’s really unfair to the child and to the parent. Most children that age are either terrified or suicidal. This non-sense must come to an end. The school teachers, principal and guidance counselors need to immediately step in.
He probably was sick and tired of the bullying and could not help it. Also, as a police officer, he probably. knows that nothing will come out of it. Some parents do not think when it comes to their child, especially when they know their child doesnt trouble anyone. Goes to school for school and not other things. Kids these days bully others for the dumbest reasons; for being smart, for being quiet, etc.
He is a police yes, but he is also human and of course parent instincts kick in and he will therefore defend his child who cannot defend himself.
To avoid situations like these Parents need to learn to tell their children to keep their hands to themselves and their thoughts in their brains, go to school and learn your lesson, become more productive, teach them kindness and mannerism, how to become a better person etc.
Because when their bully child or even them end up dead it will be a next issue. This is a new world we live in, if you think you crazy, just know somebody else crazier. And the silent ones are always the deadly ones.

The tall twin and the older man both need to be charged. The twin went to far. He could have stopped the man, not slap the man.
Bullies are often people who have been or are being bullied themselves and seize the opportunity to do to others what they have experienced.
from what I gathered reading the first few comments is that the older male is a police officer. I do not believe this for one minute. this cannot be true. somebody please tell me if this is true.
The other day I had to stop my car and intervened in a situation where a Bully child with dredlocks was attempting to choke a much smaller child than himself a few yards from the Primary School in Baughers Bay. These parents know their children are real live bullies and they refuse to speak to them.
I am an expatriate living here and any man that slap me it would be the last free day I have in the bvi.i would take a slap from a woman any day but no man is going to slap me and ever sleep comfortably from that moment.i would not even report the matter to the police until I think the matter is resolve.

The police himself got bullied just like his child. He was defending his child and can’t defend his self.

Parents responsible for their children’s behaviors and should be held accountable when they’re minors. Play bad and see where that ends up getting you….
The sad thing is that bullies bully because they feel bad about themselves so they bully to try to feel bigger and stronger. Bullying parents create bully kids and so the cycle goes. Parents of bullies need to check whether they are belittling, threatening, frightening or hurting their own child, fix their own behaviour and then teach empathy, kindness and how to judge right from wrong.
Bullies need counselling and victims need protecting….. and schools should take a close look at the parents of the bullies and what happens at home.
He should be the first person charged.
Why did he not approach the parents? Start there…nothing is done…then file a complaint with the law.

The taller dude was wrong to slap the officer. He could have spoken to him but not touched him and that’s where he went wrong. He is the one who will be charged for common assault as he should be.
Two people should be charged in that brawl not one, but the cops in the BVI are bias. They charge people depending on a lot of the wrong things. I guess they are human, and some should really not be cops.

In my opinion the tall guy was wrong for hitting the man the situation was already descalated he took it to far, I bet you if the man had his size he would have never slap him.
I was reading sometime back when a woman was pleading for help for her child from some bully and it’s when it makes fb that’s when I think the matter get attention. She made police report and contact the teachers but they did nothing.

What the POLICE should have done is call in other officers to have an intervention and speak to the children together. He should be FIRED for this!!

The young man acts like a deviant and is constantly messing with other people’s children. Harassing young girls, hitting them, and sexually harassing them. The police are quite familiar with him as he has been reported many times. While his case is being investigated for another incident he is still messing with people’s children. Something is wrong at home and needs to be dealt with. He will catch his death if he messes with the wrong child. He has no respect and at 15 is going down a dark path. Suspended from school for the same thing countless times. Some parents will take matters into their own hands if the police do not put a stop to it. No one is going to wait until their child is in the hospital before they address it. The youth’s parents cannot pay the bill. You don’t know what is truly going on with him if this is your response. Why don’t you go talk to him?
