One Mart not affected by Conagra Brands recall
PRESS RELEASE: The Management of One Mart Supermarket has moved quickly to reassure its customers that it did not have in stock any of the recently-recalled products from the Chicago, USA-based Conagra Brands.
Conagra Brands, in cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), announced on Monday that it was voluntarily recalling 34,247 cases of Chef Boyardee Mini Pasta Shells and Mini Meatballs and some private label spaghetti and meatballs, due to the potential presence of an undeclared allergen (milk) in the product.
“One Mart immediately went on the alert and commissioned an inventory of our products, to ensure that we were not carrying any of these products,” said Operations Manager, Marcia Stoutt.
She added: “As a major supermarket in the Virgin Islands, which also supplies grocery stores and provisions yachts, we remain on the alert for these kinds of issues. We are committed to doing everything we can to take remedial action, should any situation arise that could negatively affect our reputation as a trusted shopping centre for our valued customers.”
