O’Neal brothers charged in ammunition find
Police have now laid charges against two brothers and a third man after their arrest in Road Town yesterday, after receiving reports of men carrying firearms in the area.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said Cordell O’Neal, 38, of Fresh Water Pond along with Kanmi O’Neal, 34, of Pockwood Pond and Jelani Christopher, 31, of Cane Garden Bay were all jointly charged with unlawful possession of explosives.
Police reportedly received information on Wednesday about men armed with firearms traversing Road Town, which raised concerns for the safety of residents.
Several vehicles, including one occupied by the trio, were then stopped and searched in the Road Town area and a loaded magazine with 31 rounds of high-velocity ammunition was recovered from the car the men were travelling in, police said.
The men are now expected to remain in police custody pending their appearance at the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.
Police Commissioner Mark Collins expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of citizens in the community.
“I appreciate the ongoing support from the public and the Force values their continued commitment to assisting us with maintaining safety and security,” Collins stated.

The laws need to change and be more tough when it comes to sentencing these scums of society. All they get is a lil slap on the wrist when they go to court, so of course the criminals have no fear of the law….not to mention, they have more firepower than the police SMH
