Pascha Stoutt charged for historical financial irregularities at BVI Post

Former Postmaster General, Pascha Stoutt

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has now confirmed that former Postmaster General Pascha Stoutt has been charged with “various offences” in relation to “historical financial irregularities” at the BVI Post.

The police said in a short press statement that Stoutt was charged on Friday, December 16. However, the law enforcers did not specify the number of offences or the specific charges.

In the meantime, Stoutt, 45, who resides in Windy Hill was charged alongside another woman — 43-year-old Wendy George of Virgin Gorda.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, the RVIPF will make no further comment in relation to this matter,” the police said in its press statement on Friday.

So in summary, the picture being painted here is telling me that the indigenous are operating drug trafficking rings, stealing money on the job, cannot provide polite services (maybe because they busy stealing money), begging for money and crying independence if they do not get it (in grants or loans). Just going by the surnames. The problem look like it running deeper than the eyes can see. I remember when the BVI was a real place. Come on people. Save this country. Do better.

  6. Who to blame says:

Lead by example . We had an example leading and almost winning landslide victory . Where is that leader ?
The clergyman says we have a third pilliar ? Well the pilliar breaking down but we do not want to acknowledge .. Blaming UK, the white man and expatriates

Look at the BVI guns outside more than the force , illegal drugs dropping from the sky now … and you people see nothing wrong … Some of you your relatives go to jail and come out like nothing wrong

There are good people in the BVI but too much illegal drama going on in high places . Who to blame ??? Leaders set the pace for obedience to law and order

That is the leader we want .

  11. Half/half BVIslander says:

Imagine some of the nonsense you people come on here saying. I don’t condone any form of criminal activity but to say these things are untrue and unjust. I can assure you the rate of locals to ex-pats is a smaller number and the majority of crimes committed are in fact ex-pats. Why? because ex-pats are the majority. Sex offenders are mixed but the majority are ex-pats and there is data to back what I’m saying. Go back to a lot of other news articles and check for yourself news articles of crimes committed. You can’t tell who is who now but it’s easier to come on here and cause division with your nonsense. Then we have another ethnic group that seems to get a pass on any crime they commit and this is no fair or is it justice. I’ll leave it there. If she’s guilty for what shes done also then let her pay for her crimes. Let the justice system do their jobs. BY the way whatever country any of you came from havee the same crimes or worst. Peace.

I mean, yes, that’s probably true as a percentage of all crimes, given that the BVI is now majority expat. It’s simple math. However, I don’t see a lot of expats (none in fact) being charged with crimes related to corruption in public office, which is the issue at hand. Let’s not get sidetracked.

  18. Tongue Fu says:

To say that expats commit the most crimes as they are in the majority is a bit misleading as it is disingenuous. A more accurate stat would be percentage comparison. So if you have 20k expats/ 10k locals then what percentage of each number commit crimes and you would get a truer comparison.

What’s the sense anyways? A crime is a crime. We do have a crime issue as we are now seeing it from top to bottom of the ladder. How will we deal with this issue? Some of us might say well it don’t affect us as as we not mixed up in it but innocent people have died from criminal acts right here in the BVI. Crime in public office means less monies to be spent on education, health care, social welfare, capital projects etc. So yes it will affect us all.

One way to do this is by bringing those suspected of crime to justice regardless of their position. Also strengthen the DPP so that they can effectively prosecute these cases as defendants will now hire high profile lawyers to get them off especially knowing that the DPP is weak.

This is not to say that Ms.Stoutt or Ms. George are guilty as they are innocent until proven guilty.

I am curious, what were her credentials and experience that landed her the postmaster general job? The same question could be applied throughout the civil service here. I ask because: 1) they are all BVIslanders and 2) they went to school locally…

  31. Evil Leaders and Rulers says:

Those officials are criminally insane. They clearly do not care about people, respect their human rights to be treated fairly in the work place and give them what is duly theirs..

But they can find money to raise their salaries, pay them retroactive monies, increase their perks and allowances. They go on daily with their full stomachs, pockets and bank accounts.

Meanwhile, the voters and other ordinary workers, who are owed their monies are wilfully and diabolically denied and neglected..

Retirees from the civil service in particular are suffering unduly due to many factors. They are owed increments some ranging back many, many years to almost a decade, but those heartless people do not care if they eat, starve, or go medically untreated.

They could care less if we all lay down and die.

Rulers, deputy rulers, Premier and others running people’s govt affairs are treating the workers and civil servants very poorly.

  32. @Evil leaders and rulers says:

So I guess there is no presumption of innocence before guilt in your mind. You sat down there and typed this whole epistle bringing down judgment on what are nothing more than allegations at this point. If I had to call anyone evil I would say it’s you. You have one side of a story and not even the full side. You haven’t heard the defense but you are prepared to pull the trigger. Thank God you are not Jesus! This is what is wrong with this country and why the UK will continue to manipulate and colonize the minds of BVIslanders. I guess when they say you are guilty then you are guilty in the minds of us black locals. They right to have us for fools because we acting exactly that way. By the way, if you knew anything about history you would have trouble finding leaders and rulers that are more evil than the British. You should pick up a history book and read sometime instead of writing long epistles on a 1/4 of a story. Shame on you!

  33. I can tell you.. says:

From the time that FS got jailed years ago and that woman from tourist board went jail for spending the Government credit card on gifts for friends and family the writing was on the all. But the high and mighty pretended not to see it.Stamp out cortuption so we can reclaim honesty in government.no honesty? No independence.

Aren’t we all ISLAND PEOPLE? We were born in and live in the islands. Get over ourselves please! Guyana is part of a continent so they are not island people. Know your geography and English.

  35. Really??!! says:

A word of advice, if any of you thieves want to take it! TIME longer than TWINE! You cannot steal from people who keep an account (record of all their transactions, monies coming in and going out) of their money, they may not find out right away because they may not do their books/reconciliations right away, but once they do, they are eventually going to find out you’re stealing from them. And guess who they are looking for first, whoever handles their money in whatever way. Stop thief! How embarrassing is it that you are looking pretty, driving fancy car, have big house, flaunting, doing this and doing that, then come to find out you’re a thief! Doing the most to impress people. Y’all must STAP it! Leave people things alone. Work for an honest dollar and live within your means! SIMPLE!
